Archer & Olive Journal - part 1

Hello, I bought two Archer&Olive journals over a year ago now, this black one with kraft paper and a gorgeous yellow one with white paper. I have now been stroking them long enough and have now taken the plunge with the black one! I decided that I didn't want to limit this journal to a certain subject and it would just be a 'do anything in it' journal. So here are a couple of pages.

The page above is a memory I have about my late Dad's Brownie camera. He loved his Brownie and I think he quite fancied himself as a bit of a photographer! And here is that very camera, on display on my bookcase. I still also have its brown canvas shoulder bag safely stored away.

The pages below are just a nice easy play with some nature bits. I probably should have done these pages in my nature journal but I wanted to see how they would turn out on the kraft paper.

I am so happy to have started in this journal and I'm pretty pleased with how
my pages have turned out so far.

Prima Mixed Media Book - part 4

Hello. I have two pages to share in my Prima Mixed Media Book. The two pages could not be more different but I guess that's the fun of mixed media! The page above takes Lennon/McCartney lyrics as inspiration. All the ephemera has been fussy cut from The Crafters Bundle 12x12 paper set. I love this set, you get a full page of butterflies, florals, leaves, postcards, steampunk, frames and old photos.

You can buy the goodies here, and quote LIZ10 for 10% off -

I shared the page below on social media but for some reason didn't do a blog post to share here. It features the donkey and leaves from the All Ears stamp set by Tracey Hey. The background is a napkin and some stencilled texture paste.

Team Teddy!

Hello. I have a card to share today. The stamp is a Penny Black wood mounted stamp called Team Teddy. You won't be surprised that I used my watercolour pencils to colour, as that's what I do with all my Penny Blacks!

The flowers on the bottom of the card base have been punched using an EK border punch, there is no other name on the punch (I've had it for many years) so I'm not sure if it would still be available.

And I'm so chuffed, I won the challenge prize over at Cute Card Thursday and top five at Allsorts. Maybe I should put on a lottery ticket this week!

I am entering my card into these challenges -

Want to see what I bought? I filmed a quick haul video - goodies from The Mad Scrapper, Sherbet Lane and a sneak peek at my magazine feature (my card made the front page).

Arteza Art Journal - part 2

Hello. I've been having another play in my small Arteza art journal. The background layers are tissue paper, washi tape, texture paste through a stencil, clear and white gesso and watercolour paints! Whew, just keep adding stuff till it looks ok seems to be my motto!

The two main images are Wonky Tonk Girls stamps by Tracy Easson Illustrations. I stamped onto watercolour card, coloured and then fussy cut before adding them to the page. A couple of butterflies and flowers from Eucalyptus Dreams by 49&Market for a finishing touch.

Arteza Art Journal - part 1 is here.

Love Keepsake Gift

Hello. I've been busy making this project with goodies from my January Sweet Treat Box

It's a little keepsake booklet/journal. Super easy as the gorgeous stash in the box co-ordinates so perfectly. You can see everything I got in my unboxing video here.

I have left the back of each page free to add some photographs and journaling.

And by using book rings I can add or switch around pages as I go along.

I'm pretty pleased with how it has turned out!

Still Cozy.....

Hello. Today I am sharing the card I made for my hubby on our wedding anniversary. I used my new stamp set 'Lots of Love' by Colorado Craft Company (super quick delivery once again from Seven Hills Crafts).

I've kept the card quite clean and simple. Just a diecut heart on a couple of matching layers. Then the main image was watercoloured, fussy cut then popped on with foam squares. I added a twine bow and job done.

Blue Book - part 1

Hello. I enjoyed doing collage/mixed media in my altered book during December so much I had to treat myself to this gorgeous number! It's the Dina Wakely Media Journal Blue Edition. It has a mix of denim, burlap and cotton paper, so cool!

The page above is on one of the cotton pages. The background is a mix of tissue paper and napkin. The lovely lady is from a magazine and I used random ephemera to decorate.

The page below is on the denim and I experimented with some texture paste and a stencil, it turned out ok. Everything else on the page was fussy cut from one sheet of paper from the 'Patchwork' set by Stamperia.

The background, flower, butterfly and bird on the page below are all from the Vintage Artistry Coral Mini Collection by 49&Market. I love these sets as you get four double sided papers and two laser cut sheets of coordinating elements. I added some words, ephemera and lace from my stash.

As you can see I'm keeping myself busy at home during this lockdown, hope you are staying safe too.

Follow Your Heart

Hello. I've had this wooden heart kicking about for years. I think it was from the pound shop but can't be sure! Anyway, today was the day it got spiffed up!

I covered the heart using one of the papers from Emerald Queen, then I used my doily stencil and texture paste on some sections. I added colour to the background using my watercolour paints. Then it was time to fussy cut some gorgeous flowers from one of the papers. The butterfly is from the Crafters Bundle paper pack.

I love how it has all come together and it's now taking pride of place in the crafty room.

ABStudio paper packs, the doily stencil and texture paste are all available over at Paper, Pen and Plan. Quote LIZ10 for 10% off!

I'm Hare For You

Hello. I know it might be a little early for a springlike card but after putting all my Christmas stash away I couldn't stop myself! Anyway, who could resist this gorgeous hare from the 'All Ears' set by Tracey Hey (link in my side bar)?

I stamped the hare and carrots onto watercolour card and used my Inktense pencils to colour. All the background pieces have also been die cut from watercolour card and coloured with my pencils.

I am entering the following challenges -

December Daily Collage - Completed

Hello, first of all I want to wish you a happy, peaceful and safe 2021. I took a break from blogging and posting on social media. I hadn't planned to, it just happened. And the only crafty project I played with over the festive period was this, my December Daily Collage in an altered book (see this blog post). I have so enjoyed this project, it was fun to just have a play.

I have filmed a flip through of the book and you can jump to that here.

I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying collage. I think it's because anything goes! It doesn't need to make sense, although it can if you want. It's also a great way to use up remnants of paper and the odd sticker left on a sheet.

My book is now taking pride of place on my shelf.
