happy birthday

Hello. I have gone super girly for my card today! It's all very pink but I kinda like it! The stamp set is Flower Girl by Waffle Flower and I love that the stamps are all separate bits. You can decide whether or not to give her wings, a crown, flowers in her hair - lots of combinations. The flowers round the bottom of her dress are a separate stamp too so you could decide to make them a different colour but, like I say, I have gone all out pink!

I am entering the challenge at Allsorts - take flight.

Coffee Journal - part 5

Hello. Today I'm sharing another entry in my coffee journal. Urban West, once again it's in the 'West End' right on Great Western Road. We ended up here as the place we had in mind was very busy - a true happy accident. Instead of cake I had brunch, I was very hungry! I had the poached eggs on sourdough toast, hubby had square sausage on a morning roll and Mili had two dog biscuits. We will definately be back!

Zippy Zebras

Hello. Time in the crafty room has been curtailed by nearly two weeks jury duty at the High Court. An experience I never want to repeat. Anyway, here is my first card of 2020! All the stamps are from the Zippy Zebra set by My Favourite Things and the background paper is from the Essential Black and White paper pad by Altenew.

I am entering the following challenges -

Allsorts - more than a single word sentiment
Creative Inspirations - something old/new (I have used my new Zippy Zebras!)

My 2020 Journal

Hello. For the past two years I have been journaling in a Hobonichi and I have loved them (look how chunky they got) but towards the end of last year I struggled making daily entries and lost interest a little. So I decided the best way forward would be to use an undated journal and then I wouldn't feel under pressure to make an entry every day or feel bad at having blank pages.

I have been admiring the books from The Citrus Book Bindery for a long time and decided that one of their 'layflats' was exactly what I needed. I was not disappointed, this book is fabulous! I am now looking forward to making entries daily, or weekly or even maybe monthly as time allows.

And here is my first page.
It turned out really quite clean and simple but you would not believe how long it took me to decide what to do on the opening page!

The second page just has some decorative bits and pieces and some words to remind me
'don't fill your head with worries'. And then 1st January. Some journaling, some ephemera (Prima Golden Coast, on sale here) and some stickers.

I will be sharing entries periodically throughout the year.

Chipboard Mini Album

Hello and Happy New Year!

Just before Christmas I treated myself to the Hey Crafty Girl collection by Simple Stories. Great service and very fast delivery from Paper, Pen and Plan. So over the festive period, when I had a few spare minutes, this was a fun, easy project to pick up and do a little at a time.

As the whole collection is craft themed I thought I would use the album to keep a record of my pens and paints. The black alphas I used here are Thickers and not included in the Hey Crafty Girl collection, I wanted to have a nice bold heading!

I am keeping the album handy on my craft desk and I will see at a glance what colours I have in which make.

On this page is a record of the fine liners that I use in my daily journal.

For paints I made a little 'envelope' to keep the sample cards in. I painted a block of each colour onto watercolour card and once dry drew a black outline.

And finally the back page. Crafty Girls Rock!
