Sweet Happy Birthday

Hello. The other week at craft club I coloured up and fussy cut these two Penny Black stamps. Today they have fulfilled their destiny and are now centre stage on cards. The one above is 'Sweet Day' and the little guy below is 'Hoppy Day'.

I coloured using my Inktense pencils and added some extra colour with my Zig markers. My top tip for the card above is if (after you have searched high and low) you don't have any matching embellishments look at the stamp. There just might be something you can stamp multiple times and use, like I did with the strawberry!

I am entering the card below into the Allsorts Challenge....Men/Boys.

Thanks for stopping by today, stay safe.

Nature Journal - Part 11

Hello. Yesterday when we were out for our daily walk we spotted a huge bumble bee. It was floating about as if it was lost but then it came across some yellow primroses, I guess it wasn't lost after all!

The two background journaling cards on my pages are freebie printables from the Paper, Pen and Plan facebook group, go grab yours now!

Today I saw a honey bee
And we had a frank discussion
He said he'd joined an orchestra
And that he played percussion.
I asked him 'what's your favourite piece?'
He gave a little cough
And said 'Flight of the Bumble Bee
by Rimsky-Korsakov'.

Happy Memories Snap Album

Hello. Today I'm sharing another of my completed Simple Stories Snap Albums. There are three chapters, all from my box of 'old photographs' although these ones are not as old as my black and white and 'unknowns' (regular readers will know what I'm on about).

The three chapters are Furry Friends, pets from 1974-2019.....

Glasgow Garden Festival 1988....

Girl Guides 1970-1998....

I have filmed a quick flip through of the whole album which you can see here. I am slowly but surely emptying that box of photos and I'm really pleased with how my album collection is growing.

You can buy Simple Stories products over at Paper, Pen and Plan. Quote LIZ10 for 10% off!

March Sweet Treat Box - mini flip album

Hello, following on from this blog post about my 'unknowns' photographs and my mini tag book  I want to share another mini album. This time it's a little 'flip' album. Everything I used was in my March Sweet Treat box. The blue and yellow really pop and one of the papers was covered in vintage images. Perfect for this project.

The album is simply two sheets of double sided paper cut to 4x12 inches. Then you fold like a  concertina every 3inches and join the two strips together overlapping one whole section.

Then have loads of fun decorating and adding pictures/journaling. On the back page add some twine or ribbon under your decoration to keep the album closed. Really easy and fun to make.

I used up the rest of the stickers from my box on this months planner page!

Here's a peak at some of the stash from the box but you can see a full unboxing here.
Stay well and look after yourselves and others, thanks for stopping by today.

Handcrafted Happiness

Hello, today I'm sharing a card made for a crafty friend. How cute is that fox holding up the little baby fox ( pup or cub according to google!) to make paw prints? And look at the tiny jar of buttons!!

The fox and embellishment stamps are from the Crafted with Love set and the sentiment is from the Handcrafted Happiness set both by Mama Elephant. The background paper is from the Simple Vintage Botanical set by Simple Stories.

Clarissa Journal Page

Hello. I've been having a play in my watercolour travellers notebook with the gorgeous Clarissa. First of all I gave the background a blue wash. Then on a separate piece of watercolour card I stamped Clarissa, coloured her face and carefully cut her out. I paper pieced her hair using papers from my Butterfly Bliss pad.  Then I glued the whole image to my journal. I stamped the flowers around all the edges and gave them a splash of watercolour.

I then stamped the words from my 'Enjoy Life' stamp set by Indigi Blue onto the opposite page. I decided that it still needed a little more so I used my heart stencil from a previous Sweet Treat Box and added some ephemera from the Butterfly Bliss collection.

A quick and easy journal page in the bag!

Hello, today I'm sharing a card using gorgeous products from Seven Hills Crafts. The main image is from the Spice Pot set by Waffle Flower and the sentiment is from the Wish set, also by Waffle Flower.
