Mixed Media Book - part 2

Hello. I hope you are keeping safe and well. I have been having another play in my Prima Mixed Media book, you can get your own book here at Paper, Pen and Plan (and quote LIZ10 fot 10%off).

First layer, which you can't really see, was torn from a magazine. Then I added a layer of white gesso. Then the next layer is watercolours and with plenty water I just let it dribble around the page! I then added the frames and flowers. The cork hearts and circles came in this months Sweet Treat box and I added a little colour to them too.

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, maybe I'm getting the hang of mixed media!

Mixed Media Book - part 1 is here.

July Sweet Treat Box

Hello, and here we are at July already! This box is called 'The Good Stuff' and it certainly lives up to its name! Packed full of crafty goodness - beautiful papers, stickers embellishments and modern graphics in a style that I love.

I have picked out some bits I especially love for my pic' but, as usual, there is a full unboxing video here.  If you would like your own box they are available here.

Hi Toucan!

Hello. Treated myself to some new stamps. The set is called Toucan and they are from Tracey Hey at Alpaca Pals. I used my Art Philosophy watercolour confetti set to colour, love the zesty colours in that set. The background papers are Sketchbook by Amy Tangerine.

I am entering the Allsorts challenge...so cute

The other main stamp in the set is a toucan dressed as a pineapple - it's card world and anything goes! The papers are again from the Amy Tangerine pad.

That's it from me, take care, stay safe.

Mixed Media Book - part 1

Hello. Look at all the gorgeous happy mail that has touched down in the crafty room. All new in over at Paper, Pen and Plan. I couldn't wait to have a play so I have pretty much thrown everything that came onto the first page!

I am far from a mixed media expert but I do find it fun and relaxing to do. Also, there are so many tutorials out there, thank goodness for You Tube! I started by giving the whole page a wash of the Art Philosophy watercolours. Then I stencilled some of the Sparks acrylic paint - a hint of sheen and sparkle. Then I added loads of collage bits from my oddments box. I finished off the page by adding stamped and coloured images from the Dream Without Fear stamp set. Pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Once the first page was done I decided that the cover deserved to be decorated. I have been saving the background piece of paper (which came in an earlier Sweet Treat Box) and decided this project was the perfect time to use it.

The flowers and birds are from a Tracey Hey stamp set called With Love. I stamped, coloured, cut them out and stuck them down. Added some doodles and washi - job done!

If you fancy treating yourself to some crafty happy mail then LIZ10 gets you 10% off.

hello friend

Hello. I'm still having fun with my Penny Black stamps! This one is Buzz in the Air and I coloured using my Zig Brush Markers. The diecut background is Butterfly Oval by Tutti Designs and the large diecut daisies are from a Sizzix set called Wildflower Stems #1.

I am entering the Cute Card Thursday challenge....anything goes.

Journal Entries

Hello. It seems the more free time I have the less blogging I do! How can that be? You would think that of all times there would now be more time spent in the crafty room and blogging. I'm thinking it's down to a few things. The weather for a start, it has been lovely spell for a while now. Last night we sat outside until about nine, a rare occurrence here in the west of Scotland!

Anyway, the entries above are sort of self explanatory. The one below is the second reason less time is being spent in the crafty room. I bought a game for my Switch - Animal Crossing. It's very addictive, amusing and a brilliant way to pass hours and hours!

Stori Dori - part 3

Hello. I have another few pages in my Stori Dori to share today. The one above includes a quote from a Lennon and McCartney song called The End (written by Paul but, as all songs, credited as Lennon and McCartney). Turning to favourite song lyrics is a good way to add journaling to a page when you don't have much to say!

The page on the left is a collage of extraordinary things! I got the brilliant book below and immediately got my scissors out. Hours of cutting out fun ahead! The page on the left is a super quick collage of a newer style of diecut ephemera. The background paper and ephemera came in this months box from paper, pen and plan.

Loving that my Stori Dori is getting chunky!

Stori Dori Journal - part 2

Hello. As promised here are another couple of pages in my Stori Dori. The page above is me being hopeful that one day travelling will be back to normal. In the meantime I can dream and make plans 'Oh, the places I'll go'!

The page below is a nod to the beauty of nature that I see on my daily walk. We are very lucky to live opposite a small loch and the first goslings have just appeared, so cute.

Stori Dori Journal  - part 1 is here.

Be awesome

Hello. I have a card to share today. This one features stamps from the Warrior set by Tracey Hey. I coloured with my Prima watercolours and then found the perfect paper in the My Favourite Story paper pad by Pinkfresh Studio.

Well, off now to practice my party piece for the family Zoom call this afternoon. So far I have entertained (?) them with a song and a magic trick. Today I'm going to do a poetry reading. Wish me luck!

Stori Dori Journal - part 1

Hello. I'd like to introduce you to my Stori Dori. This is the first leather Travellers Journal I have owned and wow! The minute I opened it,  beautifully wrapped and finished with a wax seal,  I knew it was going to be special. The journal has been lovingly crafted using Tuscan leather and has been personalised with my initials.

I decided to use the journal pages to show quotes and images. Having the freedom to be creative with inspirational sayings and designs has been so relaxing. Putting together stamps, stickers and bits of washi tape in a collage sort of way on each page. I have filmed a flip through of what I've done so far and you can see that here.

I will be sharing more of my pages over the next few weeks.
