Distressed Mum to Be

I am entering this card into the challenge over on Bee Crafty. It's the first time I have tried one of their challenges and you must use a digi stamp. I love digi stamps and this fun image is from Pink Petticoat. The challenge is 'distressing' but they say that inking along the edges with a light touch counts, so that's what I've done 'cos I don't really do 'distress'.

The papers are by Craftwork Cards, the sentiment is also Pink Petticoat. The flowers are punched and a few buttonsfinish it off.

I am now off to the couch to shout 'Yaaaay', for Joe and Lucie and 'Booo' for those darn annoying twins (although they do amuse my DH).

Snowy with Spots and Stripes

My cards for the festive season are mounting up nicely and here is another to add to my bundle. This time for three challenges...

Cupcake Craft....a sketch
Creative Card Crew....snowflakes
Papertake...spots n stripes

I have used one of my favourite festive stamps 'Snowy' by Penny Black. He is coloured with water colours and a touch of glitter. I tried my hand at one of those little fan circle thingummies, I think it worked out quite well.

Two Bags

Oh well, all good things must come to an end and so this is my final project for Creative Inspirations. It has been a joy to be involved and if anyone gets the chance you should grab it. I have to admit it has made me 'up my game' a little.

This week the challenge is 'Decorate a Bag'. I had soo much fun doing this and they have turned out so well I will definately be doing more.

The images are from PinkPetticoat and as part of the set you get little faux buttons that you punch out and decorate. It is a challenge in itself coming up with ickle things to put on them!

This project fits two other challenges...
Crafty Catz which is 'Buttons and Brads'. And, guess what? The prize there is from PinkPetticoat, so you never know, you might get the faux buttons!
PaperPlay which is 'Favourite Embellishment'. Well you all know how I feel about my buttons. This is also a DT call so I hope I'm just in under the wire!

Delightful Daisies

My second card tonight is for two challenges -

Charisma Cardz.....delightful daisies
Allsorts..... furry friends

I punched out the daisies and added a bit of colour with grey copics pens. I'm pleased with the way they turned out. I cut the circle out on the front of the card with a nestie and put the image on the inside, I think it's quite effective. Yes, I have to admit I like this one!
The image is by Penny Black and I coloured with water colour pencils. The sentiment is from PinkPetticoat.

I have only had the Martha Stewart daisy border punch a couple of weeks. When I got it home I couldn't wait to get punching and it stuck fast at the first go. Two broken nails later I managed to free it up but then I was very wary of using it, but it seems fine as long as the card isn't too thick. What does everyone else think of them? I know they are very popular.

George for Friday Sketchers

Hello everyone, isn't it amazing how moving the clock by only one hour can make you feel a bit out of sorts. I have gained an hour but don't feel the benefit, I'm tired and hungry at the wrong times.

So, I was at the SECC and to tell the truth it was a tad disappointing. Don't get me wrong I still managed to spend the economy of a small country on loads of stash, but I had things in mind I wanted that just weren't there. The stand that usually has all the Penny Black stamps, nowhere to be seen. The guy with the full range of nesties, not there either. I will be thinking twice about next time, it is just so easy now to get everything online.

Grumbles over, here is my card. It follows this weeks great sketch over on FridaySketchers. Looking at it now, oh my, has it turned out very red or what? Maybe should have introduced another colour in one of the papers. The image is George from The Digi Stamp Boutique, and, spot the new nesties.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to get good pictures in daylight. Dark mornings, dark evenings and howling wind and rain in between. I may try to get better pics at the weekend.

George and Present

I did this one just for fun because my hubby had thought up the sentiment and I wanted to use it. But the thing is the little tag says 'for you'. So does this mean the dog is giving you a bone or has the parcel been given to the dog?

What d'ya think....does it make sense?

Anyway the image is a download from the Digi Stamp Boutique and I have used copics to colour. The paper is 'Christmas Cheer' from a Rob&Bob Studio pad and the sentiment is by my DH.

Sophie on Present

Tonights card follows Debbies sketch on this weeks Spoonful of Sugar challenge. I love this sketch as it looks like more of an effort than it actually is. It is also is a chance to use up some of the smaller pieces of DP that may otherwise languish in your box.

And look at Sophie sitting there like butter wouldn't melt. She knows she is adorable and is also a joy to colour. You can buy her here from the Digi Stamp Boutique.

Ghostly Goings On

This is the third card for my guest design spot with Creative Inspirations. I can't believe next week is my last week, doesn't time fly?

This weeks challenge is 'Halloween' so get out your spookiest stamps and stickers and set to work. There are two great prizes on offer...the first is a voucher for Digital Delights and the second is a chance to be the guest designer for November (sigh, they are replacing me already).

As it is the scary season this spookily fits a magnificent 4 other challenges....

Cute Card Thursday....Spookfest
Dare U2 Digi....Yellow, Orange, Black and White
One Stop...Halloween
Cupcake....Bump in the Night

I used a digi image from the Digi Stamp Boutique and coloured with copics. I saw the sentiment somewhere and can't for the life of me remember where so if it's you...thank you and I hope you don't mind me 'borrowing' it.

Did anyone see the Martha Stewart hour on QVC last night? Did you think 'that looks a lovely book but £20 plus about £5 p&p seems a bit steep' Well take yourself over to Amazon £11 and free p&p. The only thing is DH is going to intercept it and hide it away for Christmas.

Just a quick post tonight to share my card for this weeks Sketch Saturday. I have used Chilli from the Digi Stamp Boutique and coloured with Copics.

Dear Santa....

....I've been a good little owl, and doesn't he make the cutest card? This follows this fortnights sketch over on the Willow Sketchie Challenge. I have used a Willow Digi image, but you don't have to.

The papers are from a Forever Friends pad and I can't take credit for the colouring as it is pre-coloured, perfect for a lazy crafter on a Sunday morning.

I'm Potty

On a bit of a roll now 'cos this is for three challenges.....

A Spoonful of Sugar....a fab sketch.
My Time to Craft...quick and cute (and also a DT call).
Creative Card Crew....scallops.

The image is from PinkPetticoat, really easy and quick to colour. The papers are MMEs which I see are very popular in blogland at the moment. Hmph, I nearly jumped out my skin there, the fireworks have started!

I'm now on the countdown to the crafty show at the SECC....can't wait, gonna rob my piggy bank!

Cool Niece

Well, in actual fact I have two cool nieces, but sadly they are both on the other side of the world in New Zealand. We keep in touch with Skype but it's not the same.

Anyways, here is the second card for my guest appearance with the Creative Inspirations gals. The challenge set this week is 'Family'. Pop over there and be inspired. Oh, and there is a great prize....a rubber stamp from the Wags 'n' Whiskers Rubber Stamp Company.

For my card I used Manga Girl #1 from Sugar Nellie and Cupcake papers by BasicGrey. I coloured the image with Copics.

Another one done for Christmas. This time I have managed to combine two challenges.

Sketch and Stash....a great sketch to follow and my new stash is this cute digi image of Becky from the Digi Stamp Boutique.

Copic Colour....use olive, garnet and grey or the closest you have.

Pop back tomorrow, I will be posting the second card for my guest design spot at Creative Inspirations.

Friday.... I had a sore head!
Saturday....my sister-in-laws birthday do.
Sunday....our next 'Come Dine With Me' at Kates, it was delish.

And here we are at Monday....stash back out the cupboard and onto the dining table, which, of course, is it's real purpose.

So excuses out the way, here is my card. It is for this weeks sketch on Sketch Saturday. The cutest Christmas pooch around is called George and you can buy him here from the Digi Stamp Boutique.

Fairy Rabbit

So here is my first card as the guest designer over on Creative Inspirations. It follows this great sketch by Nat.

The stamp is Fairy Rabbit from the Messy Rabbit range by Joanna Sheen. The papers are Bloom & Grow by My Minds Eye. For a change I inked this up and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I think it was worth doing as it has made the image stand out. I then coloured with water colour pencils.

Please pop over to Creative Inspirations to see the rest of the DTs fab work.

You know I was just thinking........only in card world would you see a rabbit dressed as a fairy.

Celebration!

I have made this card for my lovely sister-in-law Ellen, who is 60 years young on Saturday. To celebrate this we are having a little family get together. Starting at our place then out for a nice meal then back here again for a spot of Singstar (we are lucky to have elderly neighbours who are a bit deaf) - I can get superstar doing Westlife and Keane - can anybody beat that?

We are not the only folks celebrating this week - it is Secret Crafters blogoversary and they have 4 fabulous prizes to give away this week, one of which is a place on their design team.

So, this is a bit different from my usual style, get me eh, versatile or what? The butterflies are by K&Co and the paper is DCWV floral stack.

Oh, and check back tomorrow. I will be posting my first effort for Creative Inspirations, I am delighted to be their guest designer for October. Ooh, I love being part of this crafty blogging world!

Christmas cardmaking has started in earnest in the Buttons household. So meet Alex and Felicity. This was a fun card to do and I am definitely going to do a little set of these for this years festivities. You can buy Alex and Felicity here at the Digi Stamp Boutique. They are the offer of the month so now is a good time to snap them up!

DareU2Digi...Punch/Diecuts
Crafts4Eternity...Sketch plus use a punch and add a bow or knot

The paper is from a Daisy and Dandelion pad and I coloured the image with Copics.

And, while we are on the subject of Christmas how would you like to be the proud owner of this little cutie digi stamp....

All you have to do is get your thinking cap on and come up with a name that suits these three snow people. You can either name them individually or as a group. Then go here to the Digi Stamp Boutique Blog and enter. But be quick, you only have until 9am on Monday 5th October.

Sixty

This one was made by special request by my Mum who needed a card for her friends Sixtieth birthday. Then came along this weeks challenge on.........

Creative Inspirations.......Letters/Numbers, so this fits the bill perfectly.

The image is by Penny Black, coloured with a mix of water colour pencils and copics. I have used my 'flavour of the month papers' from MME.
Off to Glasgow now to meet my friend for a latte and a natter.

Too Cute to Spook

This card is for Just Christmas and Birthday where there is a great sketch. OK, I know it's a Halloween card the penny just dropped when I typed out the name of the challenge but it's done now!

I have used Izzy from the Digi Stamp Boutique coloured with Copics. The paper is 'Spring Burst' by Papermania.

Do witches stay home at weekends?

No, they go away for a spell!
