Update on my Hobonichi

Hello. Following on from this blog post about my Hobonichi Techo I thought I would do a wee update. So, I'm pleased to say, I'm still keeping up with my daily entries. Although sometimes it's simply a couple of stamped and coloured images like the ones above. Well, not every day has something exciting to record! Sleep, work, dinner, telly, sleep would make for some very boring pages!! At the start of June I'll do a May flip through like the one I did for April which you can find here.

A two piece fan die.
A 6x6 embossing folder.
A cake box template.
A set of 16 stamps.
And 194 papers and toppers.

Hello. Today I'm sharing a couple of pages in my Prima Minty Dreams Travelers Journal. The inserts are watercolour paper so perfect for a bit of stamping and colouring with my Inktense pencils.
The stamp on the right is from a Waffle Flower set called 'Always'. The stamps on the left are 'Up in the Air' by My Favourite Things. The cloud background is chalk ink using the stencil that came in my May Sweet Treat box.

The Prima Minty Dreams Journal is in stock here and the watercolour inserts here. Both in the Paper, Pen and Plan Etsy store. Quote LIZ10 for 10% off! But best be quick, I know stocks are low.

paint the town

Hello. Today I'm sharing a card using one of my favourite stamp companys - Penny Black. These cuties are from a T for Transparent set called 'paint the town'. I coloured with my Inktense pencils and carefully trimmed around the images so that I could attach them to the card using 3D foam pads, making them 'pop'!

I am entering the challenge at Penny Black and More...anything goes.

Memories 2018

Hello. I've just completed the first pages in my Simple Stories Sn@p album for 2018. You can read all about my 2016 and 2017 albums in blog posts here, here and here
I have decorated the cover using items from past Sweet Treat boxes.

So the other day, when the sun was shining, we decided to take a picnic to the Botanic Gardens in Glasgow. I also took along my little travel sketch book and paint set. We have been to this favourite park many times but this is the first I have tried to sketch one of the glass houses - it's a tricky business but I really enjoyed having a go!

The journal cards are from the digital bundle you get free with this months Sweet Treat Box. They set off my snaps perfectly!

hello friend

Hello. Today's card features 'Lily Bug Love'. A digital stamp from Polkadoodles. I coloured using Copic marker pens. The background die is 'Butterfly Oval' by Tutti Designs. The little ladybirds are dies too but I don't know the maker. The sentiment is from a set by Technique Tuesday called 'I Like You'.

I've started 'staging' my cards a little bit. What do you think? Does it work?

I am right where i want to be.....

Hello. Today I'm sharing a page in my art journal. The background got a wash of grey watercolour, I then stamped 'Traveller' by Sentimentally Yours using Versamagic chalk ink 'Persimmon'. The daisies from the 'Daisy Friends' set by Polkadoodles were then stamped around the edges using Versafine and coloured with my Zig marker pens.

The girl and butterflies from 'Special Times' also by Polkadoodles were stamped onto watercolour paper, coloured, fussy cut and stuck in place. The border and dots stamps are also from the 'Special Times' set. I finished off by adding the words which are stickers from Simple Stories.

My Hobonichi Techo - April 2018

Hello. Let me introduce you to my Hobonichi Techo. She arrived all the way from Japan in March and I have been making a daily entry since. Although technically a 'planner' I have been using it as a diary/doodle/memory keeping/stamping and colouring place. My techo is in a cover called 'Eastern European Needlework' and to protect that cover it's in a clear cover on cover! Ain't nothing gonna damage this little beauty!

Here are three of my favourite pages. The one above is recording our drive round Loch Lomond. I drew the map and lightly watercoloured. The pages are 'Tomoe River Paper' which is very lightweight but can take colouring with no bleed through.

If nothing much has happened during the day or it's just a routine work day I stamp and colour or add a sticker and some washi tape. The sayings at the bottom of each page have been translated from Japanese, sometimes funny and sometimes thoughtful.

So, that's a few of my pages but there's a full flip through here over on my You Tube channel.

May Sweet Treat Box

Hello. Today I'm sharing what's in my May Sweet Treat Box from Paper, Pen and Plan.

The theme for this month's box is 'Summer Dreaming'. Shades of blues and soft yellows, clouds and stars, glitter and gold - very dreamy! There's a sparkly bow clip and a flipflop paper clip, washi tape and sequins and a cool cloud and stars stencil. But the first thing I'm going to do is try out the pen and do some on trend lettering, although I'm very much a beginner!

You can see the full contents of the box in my unboxing video here.

You can subscribe here or you can buy a one off box from the Etsy store here
Best be quick though 'cos I know they are selling fast!
