Papertake Weekly Challenge - design team card

 Hello.
It's Tuesday and time for another Papertake Challenge
This week it's...

 Sketchie Free For All

You can use this one or choose another from the
Papertake library of sketches. Just state in your blog post which sketch you used.

We have a fabby prize from our sponsors -
a $25 gift voucher.

For my card I used a Penny Black Slapstick stamp 'Lulu on the Moon' which I coloured with Copics. The papers are 'hip hip hooray' by Doodlebug and are just about to be added to the BfB shop along with some new Doodlebug tickets and icon minis - so cute!

Best Friend

Hello. This is the card I made for my friends birthday. I would normally always use watercolours on a Penny Black stamp but I wanted the image to really 'pop' so I used my copic markers. Quite pleased with how it turned out! The background paper is 'mon ami' by Basic Grey available here in the BfB shop.

I haven't really entered any challenges for ages but I had a nose around and I fit three -

Penny Black and More...dies and punches
My Mum's Craft Shop...summer or bright colours
Sweet Stampin'...take flight

I'll be back tomorrow with my Papertake card.

a bit crabby?

Hello. It's Sunday and so I have been having a little play with the new DigiStamp Boutique images. The background scene is 'Sea Scape One' and the little crabs and sentiment are from the 'Sea Life' set.

Did you know that if you make a card using any of the Boutique's images you can enter the customer competition? There is a £15 voucher up for grabs, all the details are here.

Scavenger Hunt - part 2

Hello. While out and about I have managed to nab three more finds to tick off my Scavenger Hunt list. See my first finds and read about the hunt in this post here.
Number 17 - A Lamp Post
These unusual lamp posts are on Great Western Road in Glasgow's west end - a favourite part of the city.

 Number 19 - A Public Garden
And here is Glasgow's Botanic Gardens, photo bombed by a pigeon!

 Number 18 - A Waterfall
This waterfall is in Roukenglen Park. About a 10 minute drive from where we live and we often take the dog there for a walk (we like to mingle with the thoroughbreds in this posh part of town!)

Righty ho, no crafty business for me tonight. I will be glued to the telly to watch the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games being held right on the doorstep in Glasgow.

A tee-riffic Day!

Hello. It's Sunday and I'm here with my DigiStamp Boutique card. This one is bang on trend what with the British Open finishing today! The golf buggy image is part of a cool set called Boy Toys. The set includes a sports car, fishing rod, game control, moustaches and this golf buggy. And loads of sentiments too.

I coloured with Copics and the background (which I hope represents golf balls!) has been cut with an MFT die called 'polka dot cover-up'. I cut the grass freehand and I knew I was keeping those cocktail sticks for a reason.

2014 Scavenger Hunt

Hello. Over the summer months Rinda, over on her blog Gallo Organico, runs a photography scavenger hunt and I am joining in again. There are twenty one items on the list, which can be found here.
So here goes for my first five finds -

 Number 12 - A Mascot
I managed to snap Clyde. The mascot for the Commonwealth Games which kick off in Glasgow in a few days time.

Number 6 - An Urban Street Scene
I took this view of Buchanan Street from Argyle Street in Glasgow city centre. The banners are for the Commonwealth Games (see above)

 Number 20 - A Bus with a Picture on it's Side
A few weekends ago I was in the English Lake District and managed to nab this picture of a passing open top tourist bus.

 Number 9 - A Bakery
Not much to say about this one except yummmeeee!

 Number 5 - A Rack of Postcards
This one is pretty self explanatory too.
So, there we have it. My first five finds crossed off the list. Hopefully be back with more next week.

Magazine Articles

Hello. I just thought I would pop on and let you know about the two articles I have in the current issues of Simply Cards and Papercraft and Papercraft Essentials.
In Simply Cards and Papercraft it's all about stencils and the spritzer tool. I made some of those 'difficult to do' cards for men.
In Papercraft Essentials I made some cards using the free gift of papers and toppers.
Both these mags are readily available in newsagents and supermarkets and make a great crafty read.

Season's Tweetings

Hello. As it's Sunday I have my usual weekly DigiStamp Boutique card to share. In fact this week I have two cards to share!

These little Cute Robin Chicklets are so perfect for quick and easy cards that I couldn't just stop at one!
A little bit of colouring, some matching paper or cardstock and job done.

Hello. It's Tuesday!
Time for another Papertake Weekly Challenge.
And this week it's...

Stars and Stripes

We have a very generous prize from our sponsor -

Whiff of Joy
(a super cute stamp set)

For my card I used items from the Simon Says Stamp monthly kit for July. Every month a box full of goodies arrives from over the pond - oh I do wish there were more hours in the day to play!
Getting a co-ordinated kit like this makes making cards really easy (and very quick if you are short on time). Why not check out the cardmaking kits in the Buttons for Brains shop? We have kits to suit all abilities and styles.
