Life's a beach!

How comfy does Alf look in his deckchair enjoying his lolly! Alf is new in over at The DigiStamp Boutique. There is also an Alf playing darts, useful for those sometimes hard to do men cards! I coloured with copics and the papers are Echo Park 'paradise beach'. Made the little windmill from a square of the patterned paper - quite pleased with myself!

I am entering Alf into two challenges...

Cupcake.... the great outdoors
Delightful....dog days of summer

A little inkiness!

Still experimenting and playing with the 'arty inky' sort of creation. And here is the outcome of yesterday's playtime. It's quite a big canvas - 10 inches square, so a lot of space to cover. I therefore threw everything at it - papers, paint, ink, stencils, stamps, washi tape and even a doily.

OK then, short and sweet tonight. The Olympics have taken hold!

make a wish

It's Friday and so that means I get to share this week's TeddyBo card. I have used my TeddyBea rubber stamp. Yep, these teddies are not just digi images! I coloured with distress markers and the papers are 'sweet day' by Echo Park. I also used my new letter dies, loving them! The new TB challenge is up and running - masculine and must include buttons and string. You can read all about it here.

OK then, it's fairly bright here today so we are off to the coast with the hound. Want to try and bag a photo of a pier for the scavenger hunt!

Roarrrrrr

Earlier on tonight's news I saw the little preview of the Olympic opening ceremony  - I think it's gonna be good! Dragons are cool don't you think? This cutie is new in over at Cuddly Buddly. He's called 'pot bellied dippy dragon'. I'm so glad hubby is not reading over my shoulder tonight - there would definately be a comment made! I coloured with copics and the papers are 'archaic' from Basic Grey.

I am entering this weeks Simon Says Challenge...anything goes.

Photo Scavenger Hunt - part 2

A couple more finds ticked off the
2012 Summer Photography Scavenger  Hunt!

No.8 - A person dressed as an angel or a statue of an angel.

This angel was spotted from Glasgow Green when we were out a walk with the hound. A short walk over the river Clyde suspension bridge took us near enough for a pic'. It's on top of an old Church that is now a community centre.

No. 7 - A person playing a musical instrument.

This was snapped in Glasgow city centre. OK, there are pipers galore but this guy was really funny. When he spotted my camera he changed the words of his song to 'my Mammy told me I was photogenic'!

Surfs Up!

Woohoo, there are new images available over in The DigiStamp Boutique. Rosie and Dan at the beach and a cute selection for Christmas. For my card I used Dan and a few of the accessories you get with the set. I coloured with copics and the papers are by Echo Park.

Remember that if you make a card using one of the images from the Boutique you can enter the customer competition to win some freebies. All the details are here.

I am entering today's card into the Cupcake Craft Challenge..the ocean.

Ooo la la

Just in under the wire with this one. The Cupcake Craft Challenge 'le tour de France' closes in about four hours so hopefully I made it just in time!

This morning we took a little jaunt into Glasgow to bag a couple more photo's for the scavenger hunt. I am really enjoying taking part and will post them soon. It has made me more interested in my camera (at the moment I just point and click). Maybe one day I will enrol in a photography course, if only there were more hours in the day!

Just For You

This little fella reminds me of our Sammy (we're probably on the umpteenth generation of Sammy by now!) who comes and steals the birds nuts and always looks really pleased with himself (herself).
The image is 'Exciting News' a digi stamp from Cuddly Buddly and coloured with Prisma pencils. The papers are Alla-Prima. I am entering this weeks Digital Tuesday Challenge...all tied up.

Wonderful

Oh my, where has this week gone. I haven't shared any of my creations since Tuesday! I have been busy (honest), magazine work has been the order of the day and what's in my head hasn't worked out on paper! Never mind, it's all great fun, even when things don't go to plan.

Anyway, here is another card using my new Penny Black set 'social butterfly'. I heat embossed the image with white powder and coloured with distress pens. A bit of stitching, a die cut heart, ribbon and pearls, job done! I am entering this weeks Papertake Challenge...all things girlie.

It's fairly sunny here now so we are off out on a jaunt with the hound. I want to bag a couple more photos for the scavenger hunt.

A note from Santa

Just popping this little creation on to remind you that the current TeddyBo challenge...

Christmas in July

is still running but ends on Sunday evening. So there is plenty time to get that Christmas stash out from the back of the cupboard and join in!

I used Teddybea 213 coloured with copics. The papers are by BoBunny cut with a doily die and a small snowflake punch.
Quick and easy!

Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt 2012

Here's a bit of fun I came across. A photography scavenger hunt organised by Rinda. There are 21 items on the list and you have until 21st September to complete the hunt. A full list of all the items you need to find and photograph is here.

And to start me off here are my first three, only eighteen to go. Might struggle with a couple but I'm determined to bag all twentyone!

No.4 A roadside stand selling something.
The street food revolution hasn't reached Glasgow yet and so we still have burger vans at the side of the road!
No.12 A maze labyrinth or trail.
This is the much used dog walking trail behind our flat. It looks a little dark but that's Scottish weather for you!
No.15 Someone dancing.
We spent a lovely day at Loch Lomond and we came across some young highland dancers. When I passed by later one was very tearful. Competition is tough in the Scottish dancing world.

Now, where did I see that horse!

Best Wishes

It's been a while since I joined in the challenge over at The Ribbon Girl. But when I saw the colour challenge was 'aqua, blue and terracota' it was the perfect time to use my new lace trimmed bias binding which dropped into my basket in a recent Ribbon Girl splurge!

The butterfly stamps are from a Penny Black Transparent set 'Social Butterfly' which I think will become a new favourite.

Just for You

Whilst trawling through the blogs I came across a new challenge. It's connected to the cute little 'Don and Daisy' stamps by Marianne Designs. And as it is their first challenge this little digi stamp is free for you to use. So I did! I coloured with copics and the papers are 'avalon' by Bazzil.

I am entering two challenges...

Don and Daisy....use the free digi
Sketch and Stash...a sketch and my new stash is the digi

It hasn't rained here for two days now, hosepipe ban soon?

Rain or Shine

When I spotted this digi over at Cuddly Buddly I knew at once that I had to make a card with him. He is called 'relaxed pup' and I just know that if we had a hammock our greyhound Boyd would claim it as his own! The papers are Alla-Prima and I used my Prisma pencils to colour.

Let it Snow

It's Tuesday and that means there are new bears on the loose over at TeddyBo and Co. And a new challenge...

Christmas in July

Now I don't normally have anything to do with the glittery stuff until at least November, but I had to make an exception for these cute new bears!
I used TeddyBea 213 and coloured with copics. The papers and letter stickers are Echo Park 'winter wonderland'.
I am entering my creation into two challenges...
Allsorts...red, white and blue
ABC....Surprise

Wake Your Dreams

The other month I was lucky to win two stamp sets over at The Artistic Stamper Challenge. I chose Tick Tock Butterflies and Tick Tock Flowers. And I have made another canvas using them. It has been a work in progress for about two or three weeks! Taking bits off, adding bits on, repainting/inking over the bits I didn't like. Anyway, pleased with it now - I must be - it's on the crafty room wall!

We are just back from a few days away in the Dumfries and Galloway area. On the outskirsts of a little town called Thornhill, about 20 minutes from Dumfries. The hotel welcomed dogs so we took Boyd on his first holiday! He quickly became a local celebrity charming all the locals and scrounging sausages when we popped out for afternoon coffee!

I have loads of catching up to do so I will be round the blogs later to see what you have all been up to.

Birthday Wishes

And the doily die makes another appearance. This time in one piece! I am definately liking the doily thing now, aren't we a fickle breed! And another outing for the distress markers, still only colouring with them but they are becoming firm favourites.

The stamp is, of course, TeddyBea (free recently with a magazine). The current TeddyBo Challenge 'Let's Celebrate' finishes this Sunday evening so still time to join in. See you there!

Star Angel

I finally gave in and bought a doily die! When doilies first started appearing on cards I wasn't too keen. Didn't really think they suited my style of cardmaking (if I have a style - I'm a bit all over the place at the minute!) Anyway, I kept admiring all the gorgeous cards in blogland that included a doily and just had to have one! So here is 'shiney fairy' from Cuddly Buddly with a chopped up doily cut from glittery patterned paper.

I am entering two challenges....
Cupcake Craft....bright as a button
Papertake....anything goes

Dream

The challenge over on The Artistic Stamper this month is 'circles'. So, I decided to get a bit inky. First I just cut some plain old circles from watercolour paper. Heat embossed various circley (making up words now!) stamps with white embossing powder and then coloured with distress inks.

Really quite simple but I'm quite pleased with the result.
