My Travellers Notebook

Hello. Let me introduce you to Jetsetter! This is my Travellers Notebook by Prima. A Travellers Notebook (TN) can be used for loads of things - planning, sketching, memory keeping, in fact, too many to list! Inside the notebook cover are elastics which hold your inserts in place. My inserts came with the notebook but you can easily make your own. You might even want to add in some watercolour paper inserts. There are no rules!

I plan to carry my notebook on my future travels but to start me off I thought I would do some 'catch up' pages. I have decorated the front of the first notebook with some patterned paper, a map stamp and some stickers. My Travels - past, present, future.....

The next pages feature a past trip to Tenerife. Some ticket stubs, mats, a map showing where we stayed and some journaling......

Then some bits and bobs picked up in Portugal.....

The postcard has been attached using washi tape down the centre spine....

And finally Ibiza, another map and postcard....

And some ticket stubs from the ferries....

I do most of my memory keeping/ scrapbooking in my Simple Stories (as you can see here, here, here, here and here!) and that's where the photographs are. But I think my TN will develop over time with bits of journaling and some (simple) sketching. There's also a plastic zipper type pouch to keep your tickets and stuff safe while you travel.

If you fancy your own Travellers Notebook pop over to Paper, Pen and Plan for a gorgeous selection. Quote LIZ10 for 10% off!

Artist Trading Cards

Hello. Something a little bit different today. As many blog readers will know I have joined a monthly meet-up of crafty ladies. One of the ladies is organising a monthly swap of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). ATCs are 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches and are decorated in any way you fancy. You sign and number the back of the card and maybe give a little bit of information about what was used to make the card. Then you swap your card for a little piece of art by someone else.

The theme for the first month is flowers. I kept it very simple, as this is my first go at this, and used some of my Penny Black stamps. I simply stamped and watercoloured.

The cards above are a little more adventurous! I added some texture paste through a stencil, stamped my images and then coloured with Infusions. The stamps are from Rubber Moon, a gift from my friend Debra who blogs here.

I can tell already that making these little cards could become addictive!

A party without cake....

Hello. Today I have two super quick, super easy cards to share. The images are from the 'cake and friends' set from Mama Makes. I simply stamped all the images onto watercolour card (using a Versafine ink pad), coloured using my ZIG Real Brush markers and carefully trimmed around. They were then attched to the card using 3D foam pads to make them 'pop'! I love that this set has loads of quirky matching sentiments.

Congratulations

Hello. I daren't say it but today there seemed to be a little touch of Spring in the air. There is certainly love in the air! I made this card for my lovely sister in law who recently got engaged to her handsome beau.

The hearts, flowers and matching dies are from the 'sweet celebration' set by Lil'inker Designs.

Hello

Hello. I think the raindrops on this card should really be snowflakes! There's not been this many snow showers here for a long time. So this little guy is called 'sunshine in the rain' and he is by Penny Black. I used my Inktense watercolour pencils to colour.

I am entering the challenge at Cute Card Thursday...one word sentiment.

Plan with Mama Makes

Hello. The eagle eyed among you may have spotted a new badge proudly displayed on my blog. Yep, there it is, just on the right hand side, a little way down. That's because I am now on Team Mama making pretties using MamaMakes stamps.

My first project is a planner spread for next week, although while I was working on this I had a great idea for a card design, but more of that later. The stamps are from two sets - Doodle Dreams and Cake & Friends.

The background numbers are by Dhali Art and I stamped using chalk ink. All the other stamped images are from the MamaMakes sets and I stamped them using Versafine. I added a touch of colour with my Zig Real Brush pens. A little strip of washi tape down the sides of the pages adds a finishing touch.

There is loads more inspiration over on the MamaMakes blog here. And if you search for Mama&Friends over on Facebook you can join a lovely group of crafty ladies ready to share their gorgeous makes. See you there!

Re:Craft at The Hidden Lane

Hello. We often visit the Finneston area in Glasgow. There's quirky shops, great eateries and, most importantly, a brilliant selection of independant coffee places. Just off the main drag is The Hidden Lane. Up to now this meant, for us, a visit to the vintage tea room! But now there is the added bonus of Re:Craft.
Re:Craft is a Community Organisation and you can read all about what that means on their FaceBook page here but basically it's an arts and crafts materials reuse and recycling shop. They accept donations of second hand, part used arts and crafts materials. They also take items such as wine corks, cardboard tubes, tin cans etc. which they resell at reasonable prices. They are an Aladdin's cave of goodies such as beads, fabric and yarn, paint, card, buttons and thread, anything and everything crafty! They even take items you might not expect such as used postage stamps, used train tickets, empty jars and bottles, damaged books, used magazines and newspapers, bottle tops (both metal and plastic!), bubble wrap and old jiffy bags.

After a good old rummage around I bought this little lot...

...a stamp set, chalk ink pads, buttons, stickers and tags made from train tickets! Next time I will be taking a bag of crafty stuff I'm finished with because the lovely lady at Re:Craft said we could negotiate a swap, and that sounds like fun!

Flowers and Toadstools

Hello. Yesterday was my Craftaholics Anonymous meeting. I was doing a little watercolouring demo for eight of the ladies. I think, I hope, they enjoyed it. I know I did, who doesn't love an afternoon of colouring in! Here are my completed cards. The stamps are 'Three in a Box' by Woodware and 'Zendoodles Toadstools' by Personal Impressions. I went a bit crazy with my colour choice for the toadstools but hey, I think it works!!

Winter Wonderland Challenge

Hello. Today I'm sharing my card for the Winter Wonderland Challenge.
The challenge for the next two weeks is 'All Boxed Up'. That means there must be a box somewhere in your creation! Of course it has to be Christmas themed as well!

The sponsor for the challenge is Sasayaki Glitter and you could win one of their super cute digi images. I used Christmas Amy and you can find her here.

How organised am I going to be for this Christmas? It'll be here before you know it!!
