Cupcake Challenge # 33

On the Cupcake challenge this week there is a great sketch to follow (nice and easy, just the way I like 'em).

What also makes this card easy is one of Sally Ann's fab images (cos it came already coloured) which I downloaded for a bargain price. I got 6 images on the sheet 3 of which were coloured and 3 left blank for you to colour yourself.

I am definately going back to get more, but don't take my word for it go and see here!

Charisma Cardz #12

This week challenge on Charisma is ' Favourite Things'. I have made something a little bit different for this one which contains some of my favourite things!

You will find a great video on how to make one of these cute little baskets on Monicas blog here.

The papers are by Doodlebug and the creme eggs are by Cadbury!

Penny Black Saturday #42, Sketch Saturday #44 and Daring

Spring must truly have sprung as my favourite blogs have Spring challenges to follow this week.

Penny Black Saturday..........Think Spring!
Daring Cardmakers...........Chick or Bunny (or both).

This card also follows the great sketch on Sketch Saturday.

I have coloured the image with water colour pencils and the paper is from a Daisy and Dandelion pad.

Cute Card Thursday # 52

The theme this week is 'Family Affair'.

So out came little Superboy. This will be kept safe until my little nephews birthday later in the year.

Secret Crafter #24 & Copic Colour #6

So this fits two challenges both relating to colour.

On Secret Crafter the challenge is 'Favourite Colour'. My favourite seems to change quite a lot but I s'pose the colour I am drawn to most often is pink.

On the Copic challenge the colours to use were R20 blush, E31 beige and RV04 pink. I have used the colours I have that are the closest to these - R11, E33 and RV06 - only a slight shade out all round.

The paper is from a Daisy and Dandelion paper pack and the image is from Cuddly Buddly. I have agin used my nesties and swiss dots embossing folder.

Penny Black Saturday # 41

So the challenge here is to 'doodle'. The closest I get to doodling is drawing lines and dots, so that's what I've done!

I stamped the flowers on to a spare bit of the background paper I had used and then cut them out. The image has been coloured with Derwent Inktense water colour pencils.

Whiff of Joy # 23

For this sketch I have used a favourite WOJ girlie and Basic Grey papers. I have built the image up using nesties and embellished with ribbon, prima flowers, brads and a charm.

One Stop Craft #20 & ABC F for Flowers

And here is tonights second effort and I'm quite pleased with this one. The colouring with the Copic Pens turned out better than usual (although that may be something to do with the stronger reading glasses I bought, really must get to Specsavers soon!).

This follows the sketch on One Stop Craft and fits the ABC F for Flowers. I have used one of my Cuddly Buddly stamps and cut the image out. These stamps are perfect for that and as often as not that's what I find myself doing with them.

So I'm off now to make a cuppa and have a bit of a blog hop.

Friday Sketchers # 43 & Papertake Feelin' Fruity

DH is away again, so when the cats away this little mouse loves to play! Tonight will be my last crafty session till Sunday cos we have friends coming on Saturday night and I have left all the housework to do tomorrow after work.

So anyway I have managed another two cards tonight and might still have time for a blog hop after I have posted cos I want to see what you have all been up to and pinch some ideas!

My first card fits two challenges -
Friday Sketchers - I think sketches are my favourite.
Papertake Weekly - something edible.

For this one I used my nesties, fiskars border punch (which I am completely besotted with),papermania stamp fairy and cupcake, zoomz, glossy accents, stickles, ribbon and a button.
The ribbon is much paler in real life. I have found this in the past that organza ribbon photographs much darker, very odd!

Sketch Saturday # 42

Another great sketch to follow and this time I have used a Whipper Snapper stamp..........one of the first stamps I ever bought. I have used it with Basic Grey archaic papers, buttons and frayed string.

This time I put my water colour pencils aside and used the copic pens......still haven't quite got the measure of them but they say practice makes perfect, so here's hoping!

Penny Black Saturday # 40

On this week Penny Black challenge it is a fab sketch to follow, thanks Tracie.

I have used the little hedgie from the Critter Party set. I paper pieced (think that might be what you call it) the balloon but I don't think it shows on the photograph.........so you'll just have to take my word for it!

The embossing has been done with my new Sizzix folder (just as fab as the Cuttlebug ones).

A little oddment of paper along the middle and job done.

The Sugar Bowl # 6 Mothers Day

I haven't been crafty or blogged for a whole week and I am having withdrawal symptoms! It was such a busy week with work and hospital visits. Anyhow I finally managed to get ahead and I have made this for my very special Mum (it also happens to fit the Sugar Bowl challenge so I will be in with a chance of winning those 'gorjuss' stamps).

I spotted the poem on Bevs blog and it fits so perfectly so I hope she doesn't mind me pinching it.

I printed the MUM on my 'puter using Cheri Liney font, stamped on the little flowers, water coloured them and then cut them out. I then used little gems on the flower centres.

The papers are Baby Powder - Tiny Tantrum and Oopsie Daisy by imaginisce.

The border is my new Fiskars punch and I paper pricked (a first for me) round the edges and also the oval nestie.

And finally (cos I don't think it shows in the picture) the little heart charm says ' Hand made with Love'.

Basic Grey Challenge # 25

My final card from my weekend crafty session and it's for the fabby sketch on Basic Grey. I am a fairly new convert to these great papers and now I just can't get enough of them. New nestie used again and also my new fiskars border punch.

Don't cha just love gettin' new stuff!

Sketch Saturday # 41

I have just about caught up now with this weeks challenges, can't resist them and there are now so many (I will really have to consider going part time at work - if only!).

This one follows another fab sketch over on Sketch Saturday (spot the new nestabilities).

Truly Scrumptious # 2 and Daring 'Patchy'

Used my freebie sticker for this one. which fits two challenges. It follows the sketch on Truly Scrumptious and 'It's a Patchy One' on Daring Cardmakers.

DH's comment on this one - 'disappointing , you've used a sticker, I think that's cheating'

Hmmphh!

My Time to Craft # 51, Whiff of Joy # 20 and Friday Sketchers # 42

So I had a great day at the hobbycraft show. Spent far too much on more nesties that I simply had to have along with lots of other bits and bobs that I couldn't possibly live without. Beans and toast the rest of the month!

Anyway this fits three challenges -

My Time to Craft where this week it's 'Hats'. This Whiff of Joy stamp fits perfectly with her bonnie bonnet.

Whiff of Joy and the challenge is 'Lavender and Lace'. When I made this the only 'lace' I had was paper lace (after Saturday this gap in my stash has now been filled).

Friday Sketchers and I have turned the sketch on its side to fit the image I wanted to use.

I used my new Zoomz - thanks Sally Ann at Love to Doodle for info on these!

Saturday 7 March 2009

Cupcake#29, Crafts4Eternity #21 & Arty Girlz #75

So a three for one this time (hope nobody minds).

On Cupcake the challenge was to take inspiration from a vase of yellow flowers.

Crafts4Eternity has a great sketch to follow.

Arty Girlz has a colour challenge of blue and yellow.

Not got much time to say more today as I'm off to the Hobbycrafts show at the SECC.....grabs purse and runs!

Colour Create #5 & Just Christmas & Birthday #21

The challenge on Colour Create this week is 'Blue and Brown'. I have used a shade of blue that I think is a bit 'in' at the moment cos it matches some house accessories that Next have! The optional extra was lace and pearls, well I have managed some pearls and I am hoping the ribbon counts as it is sort of lacey!

The other challenge this one fits is the great sketch on Just Christmas and Birthdays.

I have used a Cuddly Buddly image that I have given the Copics treatment to and cut her out to add some depth.

One Stop Craft # 18 Simply Stunning

This challenge is 'no patterned paper'.

Well it must have been fate cos at the weekend I bought a mag and got these cute Daisy and Dandelion stickers free.

I was also blog hopping and this card takes inspiration (although not nearly as brill') from a card on Susiestampalots blog (I am hoping she doesn't mind).

So there we have it no paper just simply stickers.

Daring Cardmakers and Penny Black Saturday #38

The challenge on this weeks PBS is 'Something to Eat' and what better to eat than a pink cupcake.

It also fits Daring Cardmakers 'Circular' cos, at the risk of stating the bleedin' obvious, it's got a circle on it!

Cute Card Thursday # 49 Charisma # 8 Friday Sketchers # 41

This one fits three of this weeks challenges.

It follows the super sketch over on Friday Sketchers, really enjoyed this one and will definately use it again.

On Cute Card Thursday it's 'Animal Magic' and on Charisma it's 'Animals'. So clearly it fits them both but I do feel a bit guilty cos I could easily do another animal one - if only I had the time! The stamp is, of course, a Penny Black and the papers are Amy Butler by K&Co.

Anyway DH is away again until tomorrow night so here is the plan for tonight .........

Sweats on, stash out, QVC on in the background (4 hours of craft recorded on sky + from the other day, much will have sold out but I quite like the demos), glass of vino and a bar of dairy milk. Sorted!

Sketch & Stash # 5

This fortnightly challenge has a great sketch to follow. As part of the challenge you have to use something new or never used from your stash. I have used my fairly new but never used House Mouse stamp. The papers are basic grey.

I had seen these stamps on other crafty blogs and just had to have one, but now I'm not so sure. Don't think it is 'cutesy' enough for me and look at those feet and that tail - too real for my liking!
