magazine articles

Hello. Just popping on to let you know I have two articles on the shelves at the moment. The first is in Papercraft Essentials 139 using some gorgeous products from Craftwork Cards. The free gift with the magazine is 'The Festive Elegance' set - an embossing folder, a stencil and a super Christmas stamp set.

The second article is in Designer Cardmaking - Joanna Sheen special. I used the stamps and die that are free with the magazine.

Both mags are great crafty reads and packed with inspiration. Go on, treat yourself!

be merry

Hello. I treated myself to some new Christmas stamps. Love these houses and couldn't wait to have a play. I gave them the watercolour treatment, trimmed around and job done. The background is a simple watercolour wash. Wait a minute, the background behind the background is patterned paper!

Still to crack open the Santa/Reindeer set.

happy halloween

Hello. Am I behind? Or just really early for next year? This is the card I sent to my swap partner for Halloween. The stamp is from a Penny Black set called 'spooky'. I think it's the only Halloween set I have so you will probably have seen a card similar to this on my blog last year!!

Gorjuss set

Hello. Today I have a quick and easy set of four birthday cards. All using Gorjuss girls, the same dies and the same paper pad. I simply wanted to sit and watercolour without having to rack my brain over layouts and what not. So the answer - keep them all the same!

I think the green one is my favourite. Love that sagey shade of green!

merry christmas

Hello. Another one for the Christmas box. The background is a paper from the My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad 'Sugar Plum'. The gorgeous ted is 'aiming to please' by Penny Black. I used watercolour pencils to colour. The tree is die cut - a Memory Box one (I think).

with a bang!

Hello. Here I am. And I have a fun card to share. The stamp and sentiment is from 'Your Next Stamp' and the papers are 'fun and frolic' by My Favourite Things.

I coloured using Copic marker pens and then sat for at least 20 minutes deciding googly eyes or not! And as you can see it was not! And the reason? The googly eyes were slightly smaller than his 'real' eyes and left an unsightly (sorry) border. Anyone else this fussy?

Hello, monsters taking a selfie. They must be using a stick 'cos I don't think any of them have arms!! The stamps are from the 'silly monsters two' set by Your Next Stamp. I coloured with Copic marker pens. The smile and photo frame die are by Mama Elephant.

let it snow

Hello. It's full steam ahead for Christmas! I picked up this Festive Sentiments stamp set by Creative Expressions at my (fairly) local craft shop the other week. They had some samples on display that were really quite eye-catching and I thought 'yep, that's for me - quick and easy colouring and a trim around, job done'. Oh yeah, not as easy as it looks to trim around, it took me ages and I don't think it's the neatest trim around I've ever done!! Never mind, practice will make perfect!

Christmas Wishes

Hello. The other month I blogged about a card I had made 8 years ago, read the post here. Well, my blogging buddy Carole threw down a challenge - show us what you would do with Snowy now! So here we are with an up to date version.

The differences? I now fussy cut most of my stamped images (or I sometimes have the matching dies). I use a lot more dies and a lot less layers. I think I might make this a regular feature. A then and now sort of thing - feel free to join in Carole!

crazy dogs notecards

Hello. I am a member of a craft swap group over on facebook. Sometimes the swaps are simply crafty stash and sometimes it's something you make. The latest one I joined was to make and send your partner a set of eight notecards and envelopes. I made these and I have to say I was quite chuffed with how they turned out. Thankfully my partner liked them too! If you ever fancy joining in you can find out all about it here.

I coloured the image using Copic marker pens and the paper is from the happy things pad by Pink Fresh. I am entering the Creative Inspirations challenge - anything goes.

two of a kind

Hello. I've had a play with my Crazy Dogs! Just shoogled some colour on using my black Inktense watercolour pencil and job done. I think the little guy is alarmed by the number of flamingos ( I googled 'plural of flamingo' and it can be flamingos or flamingoes - so there you go) that are behind him.
I was going to go all mixed media on you for the backgrounds but decided my traditional style was best for now. I will keep the experiments for another day!

bookmarks

Hello. I mentioned in my last post that I've been joining in swaps. Well, these bookmarks are safely tucked into their new owners books so I can now share!!

Some double sided paper, letter dies and punched daisies and butterflies - job done. The corner bookmark looks a wee bit more complicated but it's not. It's just a cleverly folded 6x6 paper. There are loads of tutorials on YouTube, have a go!

sending a happy hello

Hello. Just popping on to share the card I made for my partner in the Summer Card Swap. Joining in various swaps is a fairly new thing for me, I love it! Not only do you have a reason to make something you get some gorgeous happy mail popping through your door  - not just bills!!

The stamp is from a Unity set and the papers are 'little moments' by Elles Studio.

Well, I can nearly get the car into the garage. Three trips to the recycle centre and two trips to the local charity shop. All that remains to do is re-organise what is left into plastic tubs with lids  - I'm so pleased this job is done!

Next job - tackle the cupboard where the 6x6 paper pads are stored. Thanks for all the ideas you gave me on my last post. I now think I know what to do, we'll see!
