Tuesday PTW

Hello. Thanks for all the comments and emails giving me suggestions about what I might do with my 'old' stash (see yesterdays post). Some really good ideas. I think I might do a car boot sale and maybe a little giveaway on here.
I'll keep you posted!

Anyway, it's time for another Papertake Weekly Challenge
And this week it's...

Sketchie Free For All

You can either use this brand new sketch or choose another from here.I chose to use the new sketch with papers by BoBunny 'country garden' and 'social butterfly' stamps by Penny Black.

Monday's News

This week I found some treasures in TK Maxx. Three 6x6 pads and one 12x12. I really think it's time to clear out my older papers. Styles and colours change and I don't think I will use them. What does everyone else do? Do you keep them 'just in case'? Or are you ruthless with your older stash!
I also treated myself to this sentiment set. There is something for every occasion and I couldn't resist!

Right, what else is happening - a brilliant spring sale over in The Stamp Basket! Stamps, papers and dies all at reduced prices - go nab yourself a bargain!

OK, that's you up to date so I'll see you tomorrow for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Happy Birthday

Hello. I haven't managed to find time to enter a challenge in ages! But when I spotted the Cupcake Challenge was monochromatic I knew I wanted to do shades of blue. It's not a colour I use a lot of but when I do I always like how it turns out! Must use blue more often!

The image is a little pre-coloured Lili of the Valley and the papers are 'cock-a-doodle-doo' by Kaisercraft.

Monday's News

Hello, here we are at Monday again! So the pocket money this week was spent on two dies and a Tim Holtz Configuration Box. I have resisted the temptation to get one of these boxes for a very long time. Don't really know what I'm going to do with it yet, had better start looking out some small interesting objects!

On Friday the weather was far too nice to stay indoors so we took ourselves off to our local historic house. Pollock House and the surrounding country park is only twenty minutes away by car and it's also home to the famous Burrell Collection. We had a lovely walk around the park with the greyhound and I hope there are more blue sky days like this ahead!
That's you up to date with my news. I'll be back tomorrow with my Papertake Weekly Challenge card.

12 tags - April

Hello! Today I am sharing my April tag for the 'Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2013'. As I don't have any of the little metal trinkets I have used die cut cogs, flowers and wooden buttons instead. Nor do I have the dragonfly stamp. But I do have a smaller dragonfly, so two small ones in place of a larger one will just have to do!

Here is Tim's tag...
I'll be back tomorrow with my DigiStamp Boutique card.

Monday's News

This stamp set arrived in the crafty room this week. No, I didn't raid the piggy bank! It's my 'Tim Holtz 12 Tags' prize. Woohoo, how fabby. Just in time for my 'arty' makes.
But I did raid the piggy for these, I'm always on the lookout for sentiment stamps that are a little different and couldn't resist.

This month's Papercraft Essentials magazine has hit the shelves. I have an article about watercolouring using super cute Mimi stamps by Penny Black. One of my cards made the front cover, I'm so chuffed....
That's you up to date with my news. I'll be back tomorrow with my Papertake Weekly Challenge card.

You're the pick of the bunch

Have you tried this technique before? I call it the 'out of nestie experience' but I'm sure it will have a proper crafty name and I'm also sure someone will leave me a comment to tell me what it is!

Anyway, if you don't have a nestie/die big enough or the right shape to cut out your image and you don't fancy doing the fussy cutting thing all the way round 'cos you just know there are bits there that you are bound to accidentally snip off, then try this. Fussy cut a bit of the image, in this case the flower. Then pop it through your die cutting machine to cut the rest. The secret is to make sure the bit that you have cut out is not going to be cut through with the die!

This is my guest DT card for The Stamp Basket and here are links to all the items used -

Stamp - Wild Rose Studio - Teddy with Gerbera
Memory Box Die - Lovely Aster
Ribbon - Yellow Satin
Base Card - Craftwork Cards

Alf from DigiStamp Boutique

My DT card for The DigiStamp Boutique this week  features the ever popular Alf. I have used Sports Car Alf. But Alf gets up to all sorts of high jinks  - there's also rugby, football, weight lifter and super dad! All brand new and on special offer for April.

I have used copics to colour and the papers are 'joy ride' by Cosmo Cricket.

Art Journal Calendar

OK, so I missed the first three months of 2013. But at least I have started and it's something 'arty' that I am quite happy with! I decided to make each calendar 'space' do two days and instead of journaling in each space I am simply entering one, or sometimes two, words that sum up that day. I think then I am more likely to fill it in 'cos it will be quick and easy to do. Best to have one or two words than none at all!

The stamps are Jofy09 by Paperartsy and How Does Your Garden Grow by Ranger Dylusions. 'April' is  stamped using Craftwork Cards stamp set Printers Blocks. The background inks are crushed grape and fresh lime both from the Dylusions range. I also used my distress pens to add some extra colour.

If you fancy having a go at an Art Journal Calendar then you should pop over here for loads of inspiration.

Monday, 8 April 2013

I have plans to do a regular little feature on the crafty stash that has found it's home with me! First up are two new books. One, a scrapbook, I found in Sainsbury's. The pages are plain white card and I plan to turn this into my Art Journal Calendar. The second, half price from Amazon, is hopefully going to help me do the journal!

Now I love my 'cute' stamps but for a while now I have had a hankering to get 'arty'. I think I have mentioned this before on here but time and skill have been against me. But maybe now I have added these three new sets to my small 'arty' collection, you never know, perhaps I will come up with something I can share.
And then there's my poor neglected Smash book. Do you think this little pack will kick start my efforts, I hope so!
And finally, although not stash, I found perfect curtains for the crafty room.

So that's that. I will let you know how I get on. See you all tomorrow for a new Papertake Weekly Challenge.

My DT kit from The Stamp Basket has been put to good use and I have come up with this card. I have to say I'm very pleased with this one. It was a joy to colour the image and the die cuts are a great match.

Here are links to all the items used -

Stamp - Wild Rose Studio - Teddy with Present
Memory Box Die - Fresh Foliage
Memory Box Die - Norrland Flower
LaLaLand Crafts Die - Heart Fence
Pearls - Hobby House - Ivory Silk

The little Teddy has been stamped on Neenah Classic Crest
perfect for colouring with alcohol markers or, as I have done, with prismacolour pencils.
