happy birthday

During my re-org I found this little gem. She was one of my favourites for a long time and I can't believe that I abandoned her at the back of a box! And I can't even remember where she is from although I think she might be Daisy by Sugar Nellie. It looks like I have given her orange hair but it is brown in real life, honest! Right off to visit some blogs before Ant and Dec come on the telly.

before and after.....

Every wee while a re-organisation takes place in the craft room. And I have to say I really enjoy doing it! This time new baskets were bought for my stamps. As you can see above they were stored in a mis-match of boxes and were starting to overflow.

Now I can see what I've got and start to use some of the more neglected ones!
The  embellies have also had a bit of a makeover. Did I really eat that many Chinese takeaways?

Friends

Yesterday I re-organised my stamps. They have been moved from boxes of various shapes and sizes to three lovely new white baskets (before and after pics another day). As a result of this I came across stamps that had hardly been used, this little cutie being one of them. It's a Don & Daisy stamp by Marianne Designs and I coloured with my Distress Markers, some water and a brush.

I am entering the anything goes challenge at Creative Inspirations.

Funtime Dan - happy birthday

I have some exciting news! My cards are now for sale in a new art gallery which has opened up in Strathaven. The main focus of the gallery is art but they have a nice range of craft goods as well, including my little masterpieces! The gallery also does coffee and delicious cakes (my friend does the baking). So, if passing drop in (and buy).

Anyway, on to todays card. I have used Dan from The DigiStamp Boutique and coloured with copics. The papers are from a 6x6 pad called 'joy ride' by Cosmo Cricket. Don't forget that if you create something using any of the Boutique's images you can enter the customer competition to win some freebies. All the info' is here.

I am entering this weeks challenge over on Papertake - buttons or bling.

Baby Girl

I hope you are not getting too bored - I'm sure my 'Penny Black period' will end soon! But I'm just having so much fun with them at the mo'! Once again I have watercoloured the cute little baby hedgie.

I am entering the Cutie Pie Challenge - pretty pastels.

Mother's Day

This morning I spent time doing one of my favourite things - watercolouring Penny Black Stamps. Thought I would keep the cards clean and simple, it suits the watercolour look. The stamp on the card above is 'you are the bestest'. And below the stamp is from a transparent set called 'teddy and company'.

i love you

Happy Valentines Day everyone. This is the card I made for my darling hubby. We are off out in a bit for lunch in a favourite pub down by Loch Lomond. It's a much better day here today, with maybe even a touch of Spring in the air, so I'm looking forward to a little drive in the country. Especially when there's a nice glass of red at the end of it (well, it's five o'clock somewhere!)

Enjoy Life

Remember about a month ago I told you all about the neglected projects in the crafty cupboard and about how I was determined to get them done? Well, following on from my 'button E' here is my next project. I gave it a quick coat of paint, some stencilled words in the background, diecut flowers and scrolls and the sentiment is from an Indigo Blue stamp set. It is now hanging from the craft room door handle. And very pretty it looks too!

12 Tags 2013

OK then, as promised, here is January's tag. I have now played catch up and am up to date. This could be my new addiction and I can't wait until the March tag comes along. I'm just hoping I can manage all twelve with just the one stamp set!

fab friend

This is little Rosie from the DigiStamp Boutique. She's a busy girl, I think she is making a Mothers Day card. But I'm just a bit concerned that she has left the lid off one of her pens!

I am entering my little creation into this weeks challenge at Sketch Saturday.

Ug!

So I googled 'what would a caveman say' and guess what? A caveman would say Ug! This little caveman is from SKdigis and I coloured with copics and prisma pencils. The papers are 'archaic' by Basic Grey. I am entering the challenge over at Sketchy Friday, another great sketch.

Well, we have snow. So I decided not to make my usual Sunday afternoon trip out for a latte and a muffin. But, looking on the brightside, I can get ahead with my next magazine commission, every cloud and all that!

12 Tags - February 2013

I have decided to take the plunge and join in the 12 tags thing as I have bought my very first Tim Holtz stamp set. I already have loads of Ranger products - distress markers, inks, dies and some of the little embellies. But no stamps. Then the 'blueprint' stamps came along and I couldn't resist 'vintage things'. There is this alarm clock (with the smiley face!), a telephone, a fan and a typewriter (which I can't wait to use). So what better way to get me into the swing of this sort of look - follow Tim's inspiration....

Same, but very different! I figure it's not really about making a copy but more about learning new techniques. This means that one day I may finally have the courage to actually put ink to my brand new, can't stop stroking it, Dylusions Creative Journal! In the meantime I have the tag for January to do!

For my card I used Dan from this set....
The papers are Cock-a-doodle-doo by Kaisercraft and I have had those little letter stamps since my craft days began!

let's celebrate

For tonights card I have used a Mimi stamp from Penny Black called 'sweet thing'. I stamped her three times so that I could add two extra cakes. Greedy Mimi! The background was heat embossed and then given a wash of distress ink. I coloured the images with distress pens, water and a paintbrush.

I am entering this weeks Papertake Challenge...anything goes.
