birthday wishes

It's been far too long since I joined in Krafty Thursday over on the Spotted Chick's blog. So I got my new pack of Papermania Kraft out the cupboard and set to work.

The stamp is also new. It's called 'waiting' and is from the Simply Gorjuss range. I'm normally not too keen on images without mouths but I do quite like these. Never say never I guess!

Parisienne Happy Birthday

Good morning Penny Black fans!

There were some fabulous starry entries last week, check out the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog to see who won those gorgeous ribbons.

This week the challenge is....

Penny Blackground

What do we mean by that? Well, we want you to use your Penny Blacks on your background! Easy, right? I have chosen stamps from a clear set 'Mimi in Paris' and used the Eiffel Tower stamp on my background and Mimi for the main image. You should see what my team mates have done. Wow!

This weeks sought after prize is a guest designer spot with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge for the month of September. Cool, huh?

birdcage

I think this might be the last of my current run of vintagey shabby chicness. Back to cute for tomorrows Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

For this creation I used K&Co papers, I think one of the first paper packs I ever bought! The cage and bird stamps are from a clear set by Woodware. The seam binding and buttons are from Sew Sweet, and if you need to stock up on ribbon, buttons and all things haberdashery now would be a good time 'cos there's 10% off.

I am entering this weeks Truly Scrumptious challenge 'buttons and bows'.

And, yay, it's the weekend. Might go see Harry Plopper, I've heard it's very good.

best friends

I'm sticking with my vintagey shabby chic look for a bit longer. This time I have added a bit of sparkle 'cos the cupcake challenge this week is 'shabby sparkle'.

I made a card blank from papermania kraft card. The papers are My Minds Eye, I think they may have been called 'bloom and grow' but I no longer have the cover sheet. The butterflies are die cut and layered up with gems. I also made an effort and did some machine stitching. Pretty pleased with this one!

OK then, off now for a nosey round the blogs but I will be back tomorrow with more shabbyness!

best friends

Between one thing and another I have missed a few Less is More challenges. But, when I saw this weeks challenge mentioned the button word I was in!

Not much to say about this card. Two snippets of card and paper, seam binding, twine and, of course, those buttons.

The seam binding and buttons are from my gorgeous DT kit from Sew Sweet.

on a summer's day

I wish there were more summer days like today. Not a cloud in the sky so we took ourselves off out for a picnic courtesy of M&S! We didn't fancy too long a drive so about 20 minutes took us to Pollok Park. Picnic scoffed and Sunday papers read we then strolled around the gardens of Pollok House and then along the river bank. I had a lovely Sunday.

So my card tonight is a little different. I found these pre-printed images called 'storybook pages' in my local craft shop ages ago and finally got round to using one. The seam binding and vintage buttons are from Sew Sweet.

I am entering my card into the challenge over on Stamp Something 'embellished' . I have used my all time favourite embellies....buttons!

Mimi says Happy Birthday

Good morning Penny Black fans!

It was great to see so many entries last week, it's clear you all love bunting as much as I do!

So, what's this weeks challenge? It's....

Starburst!

Well, I have to say I struggled a bit with this one at first and nearly missed my DT deadline, oops! Anyway, after a mooch through the crafty cupboard I found these rubbery/foamy stars and built my card around them. Then I just had to use my Penny Black Mimi stamp 'sealed with a kiss' 'cos Mimi really is a little star. The papers by My Minds Eye 'fly a kite'.

We have a fabby prize this week from one of our regular sponsors. Fantastic Ribbons is giving our lucky winner a choice of 4 rolls of ribbon from their brilliant range.

So c'mon join in the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and show everyone what stars you are!

fridge magnet....

....but not on my fridge! This is taking pride of place on the magnetic board in front of my crafty area. Really (really) easy to do, a perfect little project to keep the kiddiewinks amused during the hols, don't you think?

I got a pack of magnets from here, the Sew Sweet shop, which is where the little trio of buttons also came from. I already have a couple of other ideas for these magnets, so you will be seeing more of them soon!

I am entering my little creation into this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge... going round in circles.

fly with me

Good morning everyone, I don't know about where you are but the rain cannot come down fast enough here! The perfect day to make some cards. We are off out tonight to the local Italian with some friends so apart from a (very) quick tidy up round the house I have play time until 4pm, woohoo!

So, here is todays creation. I have used 'fly with me' by Penny Black and coloured with watercolour pencils. The papers are 'fly a kite' by My Minds Eye. And that gorgeous ribbon is thick twill in celery/white and is available here from Sew Sweet.

Anyone else.....

....having trouble leaving comments?

I don't know if it's Mr Blogger acting up again or something to do with my connection 'cos I've had a few problems recently.

I've had a peek in the known problems and nothing is mentioned.

Oops, just realised. Obviously if I get no comments there must be a problem!
