Cheers!

I am fairly well ahead with my Christmas makes so thought I would have a little break from the snowflakes and glitter and make a male card. So here is Alf from the DigiStamp Boutique.

I coloured Alf with Promarkers and Copics. The papers are 'masculine' by Dovecraft. The stars are punched and diecut with a felt star in between.

I am entering Alf into these challenges....

A Spoon Full of Sugar....lets get punchy

Creative Card Crew....lets punch it

Simon Says.....punch 'em

And.....drum roll......it's sneaky peek time.....

Tomorrow Sally-Ann releases new images into the boutique, as cute as cute can be!

have a mice day

Good morning Penny Black fans.

Thanks to everyone who joined in last weeks challenge, your creations were spookalicious!

This weeks challenge is.....

Zigzags/Triangles

You can interpret that in any way you choose, but for inspiration, you should see what my team mates came up with, have a peek here.

I got the buttons border punch a little while back but then needed to get the perfect stamp to complement it, these little mice fit the bill perfectly, don't you think? The papers are BoBunny and I watercoloured the stamped image. My 'challenge bit' is the machine stitched zigzags round all the edges.

So what's everyone in the UK going to do with their extra hour this weekend?

my ancestors

A few months ago my Mum gave me this picture 'that baby is your great gran'.
I'm not a scrapbooker but couldn't resist having a go.

Don't they all look serious?

Simply Create

This months design team kit from Simply Create incudes papers and stamps from the Holly Jolly range by MME. It has a real vintage feel about it. This means a change of style for me but I really enjoyed it.

I have already shown you my altered box so here are 2 cards and a little tag. When I saw this I had to have a go at making a tag. And a great way to use up all your little leftover bits.

I still have some papers left so there will be more Holly Jolly to share with you soon.

Merry Christmas

Another one for the Christmas box. I have used my Hero Arts 'Snowy House' I got in last months DT kit from Simply Create. I think this is the most I have used one stamp! I love it! The sparkly bits don't show up in the pic' but it does sparkle!

This card is for the challenge over on the Ribbon Girl blog 'red and green'. I used their ribbon and twine (which I can't stop using either) on my card.

Winter Fun

Yay, it's Friday!

I am now fully immersed in festive mode, glitter and snowflakes everywhere! This is the first I have inked up this snowman from Lili of the Valley and I love him. I coloured with copics and promarkers. The snowflakes are punched and diecut. And, what about that gorgeous ribbon? It's from the Ribbon Girl online shop, off now to order more.

This fits two challenges....

Lili of the Valley....winter fun

Festive Spirits

This month my design team kit from Simply Create is made up of My Minds Eye 'Holly Jolly' papers, the stamp set to match, lace, buttons and a little box to alter.

So I set to work on the box first and here is the result.

Firstly I gave the whole box a wash of red water colour then covered it with the dotty paper. I stamped the two snowflakes and the two baubles and heat embossed them with clear powder and cut out. Then I inked round all the edges with tattered rose distress ink.

The little menu cards are computer printed, layered on to the dotty paper, stamped with the Noel from the set and inked with the tattered rose.

Now, what am I going to do with the rest of my kit?

You're a Gift

Another one for Christmas, aren't I doing well?

This time I stamped Penny Black's 'You're a Gift' on to Kraft card and coloured with Prisma Pencils and Zest It. I no longer know the name of the papers, they were from my ever growing, can't seem to use it up, scrap collection.

This is for the Simon Says challenge...3 types of embellies, 2 papers and 1 image.

Bonjour Bloggers!

Sometimes you make a card and you are just really pleased with yourself. Well that's what happened here. I love them, and I don't care if it's blowing my own trumpet!

The images are from the DigiStamp Boutique 'cute birds' and I coloured with Prisma Pencils and ZestIt. The papers are by BoBunny. I wanted to think of sentiments that would bring the cards together and voila, hubby, yep that's right, my hubby (he now likes to call himself 'the ideas man') came up with the french idea. I think it's spot on.

I am entering these cuties into the challenge over on Papertake '3 of something'.

My new kit arrived from Simply Create yesterday and I have been tasked with altering. I have never altered anything before so I will be calling on my newly appointed 'ideas man'!

Just for you

Good morning Penny Black fans!

A big thank you to everyone who joined in last week's 2 or more images challenge, I saw some wonderful creations. Check out the Penny Black challenge blog and find out if you are a lucky winner.

This week we have a fabulous sketch by our very own Debby......

Because I had my heart set on using my 'team teddy' stamp I flipped the sketch on to its side. The papers are 12x12 sheets by American Crafts, I've had them for ages and finally cut into them. I used my water colour pencils to colour the stamped image.

For all the info' on this weeks challenge, to have a peek at this weeks prize and to see some brilliant inspiration visit the Penny Black Challenge Blog.

500 days of Summer

This week is just running away from me, no time to craft and no blog post since Sunday. But I do have some crafty time tonight so there should be a creation from me soon.

In the meantime I thought I would recommend a film.....500 days of Summer. Clever and feelgood. I still have it on the sky+ list and have watched the bit at 32 minutes into the film a fair few times....I have linked it here.

We wish you a Merry Christmas......

......and a Happy New Year!

This weeks challenge on Allsorts is to take inspiration from a song title. I immediately thought of my new 'caroling trio' Penny Black slapstick stamp. They are soooo cute. I coloured the image with water colour pencils and the papers are by BoBunny. The sowflakes are punched and diecut and finished with buttons and twine.

So I am entering this card into 3 challenges....

Allsorts....song inspiration

Cute Card Thursday.....make your own embellies

Delightful Challenges.....red, green and white

Off now for my usual Sunday afternoon jaunt into Glasgow to meet my friend. Two lattes and two muffins, mmmm.

Spooky Halloween

Good Morning Penny Black fans!

A big thank you to all who joined in last weeks 'Don't be Square' challenge. I saw some fabulous creations. Check out the Penny Black Challenge blog to find out if you are one of the lucky winners.

This weeks challenge is....

use 2 or more penny black stamps

I decided to go all spooky and use my Halloween transparent set. Last halloween we had some friends round for dinner and a little tipple. I bought a witches hat and broom in the sale at Morrisons and put them at the front door for a giggle. The next morning someone had left monkey nuts and a bag of milky way stars.
I'm putting them out again this year!

Don't you think if this bat could talk he would have a lisp?

Let it Snow

So I'm persevering with a different style. Playing around with Hero Arts stamps and distress inks. This stamp was part of my DT pack from Simply Create (thanks Jacqui). It's called Snowy House and I love it. I coloured the snowy house with copics. The background was stamped using 'Cling Dots' with 'Faded Jeans' distress ink. And, I can't believe I actually tore a bit of paper, it's so not me!

Anyways, I'm sort of fairly pleased with it but can't help feeling it looks a bit bare and that something is missing.

Wednesday, 6 October 2010

happy halloween

Spooky season has arrived in blogland. So it's time to colour up Izzy from the DigiStamp Boutique.

The papers are by BoBunny and I used copics and promarkers to colour.

Izzy fits three challenges....

Delightful Challenges....purple, green and black

Digital Tuesday.....ribbon, buttons, bling..any or all

Simon Says...halloween

tic and toc.....or Robbo and Roberta

The challenge over on Cute Card Thursday this week is 'TicToc'. Well, I don't have any images that include a clock/time but the challenge does say I could use my imagination, so I did! I renamed the fabulous Robbo and Roberta from the DigiStamp Boutique Tic and Toc (I'm sure Sally-Ann won't mind, it's only for one week).

I coloured with Copics and Promarkers and the papers are Joy Ride by Cosmo Cricket.

Off now to watch the X Factor, there will be tears if they're in and tears if they're out. Fabulous TV.

Eddie and Jemima....Merry Christmas

I'm fairly swinging along with my Christmas makes. For this one I have used an image from the Kiss-Mass Collection, Offer of the Month from the DigiStamp Boutique.

I coloured with Copics and the papers are from my scrap box (love using bits up). I am entering this card into two challenges....

Penny Black....Merry Christmas

Good Morning Penny Black fans!

Time to get those creative juices flowing for this week's challenge....

Don't Be Square

So I had to get my thinking cap on for this one 'cos square is by and large what I do. I'm quite pleased with the end result, it was so easy....

I trimmed Kraft to make a long card and then snipped out little triangles to form a cracker shape. I stamped Hero Arts dots using red ink for the background and over stamped with snowflakes finishing each one with a crystal. The image is 'warm and cold' by Penny Black coloured with copics. The ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl. I glamour dusted him to within an inch of his life (and now looks like he has a bit of a beard).

To find out all about the two fabulous prizes up for grabs this week from our regular sponsors Penny Black Inc and for loads of inspiration visit the penny Black Saturday Challenge blog.
