life happens...coffee helps

Hello. Today I'm sharing my regular make for Seven Hills Crafts. We love our coffee, especially if it comes with yummy cake and a dog muffin for Mili! This card would be perfect for any coffee lover.

I stamped, coloured and cut out 'curvy girl loves coffee' by Stamping Bella (matching dies here).

Then I stamped all the coffee cups and pot from 'coffee date' by My Favorite Things using co-ordinating ink pads (matching dies are here). I love that the stamps in this set do the colouring for you!

Thanks for stopping by today, there's loads more inspiration over on the Seven Hills Crafts blog.

paint pot

Hello, today I'm sharing my regular make for Colourific Stamps. Something a little bit different! I've had this paint pot, oh, it must be at least five years, if not longer, so it was time to give it a purpose. This pot is clear plastic and made to decorate but I guess you could do this to any old paint pot or tin. I simply covered the pot and lid with patterned paper. Then I stamped two of the Moderne Flowers, coloured and trimmed around. They were then fixed to the pot and lid using foam pads.

I then stamped out 'brushes' using the Alphabet and Numbers stamp set and cut them up in random shapes. They were also fixed to the pot using foam pads. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out!

Colourific have launched a brand new challenge blog. It's anything goes so couldn't be simpler! All the details are here. One lucky winner will receive a gorgeous stamp set!

watercolour notebook - part 2

Hello. I've been having another play in my watercolour paper notebook (see this post for part 1). This time I thought I would compare the differences between the various markers I have. And, although there aren't huge differences, I can see variations. And, I think it makes a pretty page in my book!

These just arrived today from Paper, Pen and Plan. It's my first 'proper' pan set and I'm quite excited to try them out! The colours are gorgeous.

happiest of birthdays

Hello. Today I'm sharing my regular make for Seven Hills Crafts. So, I have freed my old sewing machine from the crafty cupboard! The minute I placed these daisies on my card base I knew I wanted to stitch round the edges. And although my sewing is a little wonky I'm pretty pleased with the result.

The daisies and leaves, from the Sizzix Wildflower Stems #1 set, have been die cut using watercolour card. I then coloured with my Altenew paints. The sentiment from the Hand Drawn Happiness set  by Lil'Inker Designs fits perfectly in the space left by the daisies

111 Places - part 8

Hello, I've been out and about again visiting places listed in my
'111 Places In Glasgow You Shouldn't Miss' book.

Number 19 is the Buffalo Bill Statue. In a tiny park (it's not really a park it's a square bit of grass in front of some tenements) in Dennistoun the statue marks the visit of the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show to the East End of Glasgow in 1891. We were a bit disappointed that a traffic cone has been placed on the statue and although this is a common thing to happen in Glasgow it covers the whole of his body!

happy birthday

Hello, today I'm sharing my regular make for Colourific Stamps. This card features two stamp sets, I like to mix and match! The flowers are from the Hydrangeas Set and the leaves are from the Peonies Set. I stamped everything onto watercolour card, coloured with my Distress Markers, fussy cut and attached to my card base using foam pads.

Colourific have launched a brand new challenge blog. It's anything goes so couldn't be simpler! All the details are here. One lucky winner will receive a gorgeous stamp set!

Nature Journal - part 6

Hello. I've made another entry in my nature journal. This time a photograph of a beautiful butterfly and just as I clicked the camera a bumble bee flew into shot! So I got a two for one!

The paper, emphemera, washi tape and stickers are all from the Vintage Botanicals range available over at Paper, Pen and Plan. I stencilled the July using my Alpha Stencil and Sponge Tip Daubers.

magical day

Hello. Today I am sharing my regular make for Seven Hills Crafts. I love to mix and match my stamp sets and that's exactly what I did here. I used my Plentiful Petals set by My Favorite Things with matching dies and Magical Day by Neat and Tangled (matching dies available here).

The background piece has been cut using my new Circle Texture die by Waffle Flower, I love this die, it hasn't left my desk since I got it! I then stamped and coloured the unicorn giving him a touch of rainbow colours. To balance the card I stamped and cut a cluster of flowers. I overlapped them and curled the leaves. The sentiment comes with the Magical Day set and I love that the words are separate stamps meaning I can stamp in different colours.

watercolour notebook - part 1

Hello. Following on from this post where I shared how I covered a notebook to use for snippets and clippings from magazines I have covered another notebook, this one is filled with watercolour paper, to use for some watercolour practice and notes. To cover the book I used paper that came in my Sweet Treat Box and stamps from the Waffle Flower set 'little painters'.

Here's a peek inside....

July is world watercolour month and over in the Paper, Pen and Plan facebook group everyone is sharing tips and techniques. Why not come and join in, we are not experts but we want to learn!

My art journal notebook and my snippets notebook are sharing space in this travellers notebook cover. Black and white covers are definately my thing just now!

so nice

Hello. I can't tell you how much it tickles me that my new wooden snail, a present from my lovely friend, matches the snail on my card perfectly! The stamp is 'garden visit' by Penny Black and I coloured with my Inktense pencils. The sentiment is from the 'I Like You' set by Technique Tuesday and the papers are 'Spring Fling' by Pebbles.

Thanks for stopping by today, happy crafting!

Memory Keeping - part 3

Hello. I've been busy again documenting my 'older' photographs of holidays past. In 2005 we had a short break in Barcelona, a beautiful city and long overdue another visit.

Another long weekend was spent in Prague, but once again, we cannot remember which year!

In 2010 we went with friends to the Italian town of Bergamo.
If you ever get the chance it's well worth a visit.

My album is filling up nicely.

111 places - part 7

Hello, I've been out and about again visiting places listed in my
'111 Places In Glasgow You Shouldn't Miss' book.

Number 20 Byres Road Lanes, love this place! And the art shop in the Arcade has the coolest collection of Japanese pens, pencils and notebooks, I could spend a fortune!

Number 97 The Subway, an easy one to snag. No-one ever gets lost on the Glasgow subway it's only one circle with two sets of tracks running side by side but in opposite directions!

Gnomes with a secret

Hello. Today I am sharing my regular make for Seven Hills Crafts. How cute are these two? I wonder what secrets they are telling! They are 'gnomes with a secret' from Stamping Bella. The 'fairy garden sign' is also Stamping Bella. I coloured with my favourite watercolours from AlteNew. The background paper is from my 'simple vintage botanicals' pad by Simple Stories and was die cut using the Wonky Stitches die.
