Passport Travellers Journal

Hello. My two Prima passport size journals are getting pretty chunky. The inserts are watercolour paper and mixed media paper, ideal for my efforts in art journalling. I also love this size, I don't feel overwhelmed by a big blank page!

I renewed my passport last year so I have slotted the old one into the third elastic. I have plans to decorate the pages, I have an actual passport in my passport journal!!

These gorgeous Travellers Journals are available over at Paper, Pen and Plan.

friendship warms my heart

Hello. Don't these two look cosy? I hope you are keeping cosy during this cold snap. I used two new stamps sets to make my card today. From Concord & 9th 'winter wear' and from Wplus9 'knit patterns'. I stamped the background using Versamagic chalk ink and I coloured the images using my ZIG Real Brush Markers.

The 'winter wear' stamp set is a little unusual. You get separate stamps so that you can mix and match the scarves and hat. Have a peek at the picture of the set below to see what I mean!

one of a kind

Hello. I did some heat embossing! The background stamp is 'tossed florals' by Wplus9 and I heat embossed using white powder. Then I wasn't sure if I should colour it in, but I didn't, as you can see! The little guy is from the 'you gnome me' set by My Favourite Things, I coloured him with my Copic marker pens.

I am entering the Cutie Pie Challenge...cute clean and simple.

February Sweet Treat Box

Sweet Love is the theme of the February Sweet Treat box. And although the main colour in the box is pink it has a lovely vintage feel throughout which makes the stash very versatile. I know I will make loads of projects with this box and I can't wait to get started!

As usual I have filmed a quick unboxing video, you will see a proper close up of everything in the box. You can find it here over on my You Tube channel.

your heart and my heart

Hello. When My Favourite Things released this stamp set 'joyful heart bears' I just couldn't resist! You get three cute bears, seven sweet sentiments and three teeny butterflies. I gave the stamped image the usual watercolour treatment. I also used watercolour on the grass once it had been die cut.

I am entering my card into the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday...Critters.

Hobonichi - January update

Hello. I am often asked about my Hobonichi. What is it? What is it's purpose? Do you really do this every day? What's so special about this book?

Well, I have a Hobonichi Techo (English version - Hobonichi is a Japanese company) with a blue cover and a patterned cover on cover. And, yes, strictly speaking, it is just a diary/planner with a page to a day.

People use them in all different ways, but I use mine as an 'anything I fancy doing that day'! For days when I just got up, went to work, came home and watched telly it's just washi tape and stickers. The pages above are exactly that. I used washi and stickers from the Pretty Pale collection by Prima available here from Paper, Pen and Plan.

Other days I might want to jot down what I did along with maybe stamping, colouring or some stickers, like the page below.

Now, do I do this every day? Mostly I do, it doesn't take long to do a page, maybe ten minutes or so. The longest I have gone without completing a page is three days. But it's fun catching up!

What's so special about this book? I could go into how great the paper is, how lovely the covers are and how it makes it special coming all the way from Japan! Yes, I know I could do this in a much cheaper plain notebook/diary, but would I?

love is in the air

Hello. I have another Penny Black card to share. This one features 'hedgehopper' and, as usual with my PBs, I coloured with my watercolour Inktense pencils. The background dies are 'swirls' by Concord & 9th, 'frame' by Mama Elephant and 'clouds' by Lawn Fawn.

I didn't have a small aeroplane for my staging so had to make do with some random wood mounted stamps!

111 places - part 3

Hello, I've been updating my '111 Places' travellers notebook.
If you haven't a clue what I'm on about part 1 is here and part 2 is here

This is number 81 in the book - Rottenrow Gardens. A huge nappy pin marks the spot where the Glasgow Royal Maternity and Women's Hospital once stood (1860-2001). The hospital was where ultrasound was developed in the 1950s.

And this is number 58 - The Kelbourne Saint. Although it has had a name change and a bit of a makeover since the book was published the sheds are still there, and still being used!
It has had a moment of cinematic fame standing in for an Edinburgh pub fight scene in the film Trainspotting!

going places!

Hello. The other week I shared three Penny Black cards all with a sewing theme. Today I have two more Penny Black cards to share, this time with a car theme!

The card above features 'flower powered' and the one below is 'london cabby'. I coloured both images with my Inktense pencils. Both background papers are from the 'go now go' pad by Shimelle.

You add colour to my world

Hello. Today's card features two stamp sets by Neat & Tangled. The cute little people are from 'Complementary Colours' and the sentiment is from 'Paint Night'. I cut the sentiment up after I stamped it as I wanted to substitute 'color' (Neat & Tangled are from the US) for colour!

I used Copic marker pens to colour and the background piece has been die cut using Wonky Stitches by Avery Elle.

New planner for 2019!

Hello. My new planner for 2019 is this super cute KikkiK. I got the matching dog charm, magnetic page markers, pen and some stickers. Santa was very good to me! A planner this cute deserves fancy dividers and here is my January divider. I used paper, stickers and washi tape from the Freezin' Season set by Simple Stories. Paper, Pen and Plan has this in stock at the mo'.

 Here's a closer look....

I enjoyed making my divider so much I decided to get ahead and make one for February. This time I used my July Nutting Joy Doll stamp and did some paper piecing and water colouring. The stamp is also available from Paper, Pen and Plan here.

I wet my plants!!

Hello. I have a super quick fun card to share today. The stamps are from the 'Twiggy Florets' set by Paper Smooches and I did a little bit of colouring with my Copic marker pens. The white panel has been die cut using 'Wonky Stitches' by Avery Elle.

We're forecast to get a little bit snow tomorrow and it's the one day of the year I'm on a bus as the car is booked in for it's service! I'll be looking out my thermals!!
