Alice Quote Book

Hello. One of my favourite books is Alice in Wonderland, I have this gorgeous illustrated version my hubby bought me a number of years ago. So I thought it might be a nice idea to make a little mini book to keep some of my favourite quotes in.

I used my 'passport mini book' Sizzix die to cut the pieces of the book. I then strung them together using twine. The papers ,stickers and ephemera are 'Alice in Wonderland' by Echo Park from Paper, Pen and Plan.

'Begin at the beginning and go on 'till you come to the end, then stop'.
Lewis Carroll

Mad Hatter 'Why is a raven like a writing desk?'
'Have you guessed the riddle yet?' the Hatter said, turning to Alice again.
'No I give it up' Alice replied 'What's the answer?'
'I haven't the slightest idea' said the Hatter.
Lewis Carroll

I plan on adding more quotes and it will be a little keepsake beside my gorgeous Alice book.

My Hobonichi Techo - May 2018

Hello. Following on from this blog post where I shared a few of my April pages I'm back to share my May pages. I am still loving this little planner and am faithfully making an entry every day. When nothing much has happened, say on a routine work day, I will maybe just stamp and colour or stick a journal card with an inspirational saying. If you want to see more of my May pages there is a one minute flip through of May 2018 here.

If you watch the flip throughs you will see that I mainly use stickers, although there are a couple of my doodles in there! So, because I would love to do more of my own drawings I got this.....

...I haven't had a go yet but it's a gorgeous book and I'll let you know how I get on!

Just Bee-Cause

Hello. I have a happy announcement to make! After being a guest over at the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Challenge for the last four weeks I have been asked to be a permanent team member. My first 'official' post is on Tuesday 26th June but I couldn't wait that long to have a play! So I printed  Buzzy Bee Honey and coloured using my Copic markers.

The Digi Choosday Challenge is every Tuesday and it's always 'anything goes'. And, if you pop over to the challenge blog on a Tuesday, you will get a special discount code to use that day!

Calligraphy Class and new notebooks!

Hello. A while back I fancied having a go at learning brush pen calligraphy. I bought some pens, a book (a cheap one from The Works), watched some YouTube videos and printed off some free practice sheets. Immediately I knew this was harder than they make it look, I failed miserably and gave up.

Then Toasty Type popped up on my Facebook feed (how does it know these things, oh never mind). A beginners class, three hours long, everything provided (brush pen, pencil, rubber and a practice booklet) and fairly local to me (Braw Wee Emporium). I signed up straight away! Well, my class was last week. It was sooooo good! Jen knows her stuff, and knows how to make the scrummiest chocolate brownies! With a great mix of music in the background we were set to work. Jen showed us all the basics - upstroke, underturn, p-loop, swish and many more. Then after some practice drills it was onto abc and then some words. Before we knew it the three hours were up and we left with the words 'practice, practice, practice' ringing in our ears!

I can't recommend Jen's class highly enough and I will definately be signing up for the intermediate class.

So, learning a new skill needs a new notebook, right? The pages in this one are covered in little dots and is lovely and smooth. Perfect for my calligraphy drills. The cover was plain Kraft so I had to pretty it up a little. I used paper from this months Sweet Treat box and some stickers from my stash. I even decorated the large pink paperclip again from this months box.

A wee peek inside!

My new lettering notebook now matches my planner and doodle notebooks perfectly. And they all fit nicely into my Lyradori.......

have a wonderful day

Hello. The heat gun has been brought out of retirement! I've had this Rose Gold embossing powder sitting on my desk staring back at me for ages. So when I bought this gorgeous stamp set 'Hummingbird' by Avery Elle (super fast service once again from Seven Hills Crafts) I thought it was the perfect time to crack it open!

The background is a doily stamp by Papermania and I used chalk ink to stamp. I heat embossed the images and coloured using my Gansai Tambi watercolours then carefully trimmed around. The sentiment was stamped and embossed directly onto the card base. I added some sequins as a finishing touch.

Plan With Me and June Unboxing!

Hello. I'm back from my holidays and here to share my regular Sunday plan with me blog post. This week I have a rainbow of elephants, some fancy frames and Planner Penelope envelopes! I stamped everything using my Versafine  ink pad and coloured with ZIG Real Brush Markers. The envelope stamp is in the June Sweet Treat Box (see below for pics and unboxing video). I stamped the envelope and then masked it off with a piece of scrap and stamped Penelope from a previous Sweet Treat box. Works well I think!

The envelope paper clip and pink clip at the top of the page are both from this months box (which, I think, is the best ever). Here are all the stamp sets I used....

Elephant stamps from a Mama Makes set.
Planner Penelope stamps from Paper, Pen and Plan.

And here is what is in the June Sweet Treat Box. Gorgeous papers, clips, pen, stamps, stencils, embellies, washi tape.......

If you want to see a full reveal in more detail then you can see my unboxing video here. Oh, and here's a sneak peek of the July box, looks gorgeous, can't wait!!

Ibiza 2018

Hello. I'm just popping on to make you all a little bit jealous! This is the view from my balcony in Santa Eularia, Ibiza. And this is the reason I have been a little bit quiet here!

Normal service will be resumed soon. I will also be round your blogs for a visit and to catch up on what you have all been up to in my absence!
