let it snow

Hello. It's full steam ahead for Christmas! I picked up this Festive Sentiments stamp set by Creative Expressions at my (fairly) local craft shop the other week. They had some samples on display that were really quite eye-catching and I thought 'yep, that's for me - quick and easy colouring and a trim around, job done'. Oh yeah, not as easy as it looks to trim around, it took me ages and I don't think it's the neatest trim around I've ever done!! Never mind, practice will make perfect!

Christmas Wishes

Hello. The other month I blogged about a card I had made 8 years ago, read the post here. Well, my blogging buddy Carole threw down a challenge - show us what you would do with Snowy now! So here we are with an up to date version.

The differences? I now fussy cut most of my stamped images (or I sometimes have the matching dies). I use a lot more dies and a lot less layers. I think I might make this a regular feature. A then and now sort of thing - feel free to join in Carole!

crazy dogs notecards

Hello. I am a member of a craft swap group over on facebook. Sometimes the swaps are simply crafty stash and sometimes it's something you make. The latest one I joined was to make and send your partner a set of eight notecards and envelopes. I made these and I have to say I was quite chuffed with how they turned out. Thankfully my partner liked them too! If you ever fancy joining in you can find out all about it here.

hello crafty friend

Hello. I've been having a wee play with my magical dragons! All the dragons in this set by MFT are very cute - not scary dragons at all!!

I coloured the image using Copic marker pens and the paper is from the happy things pad by Pink Fresh. I am entering the Creative Inspirations challenge - anything goes.

Hello. I'm just popping on to blow my own trumpet and to let you know that the latest issue of Die-Cutting Essentials has hit the shelves! I made five cards for this article all using 'Bear Hugs' by Stampin' Up. Super cute!

The magazine is a great crafty read and the free gift - wow! An autumn leaves die set with a matching embossing folder. And, of course, the mag' has loads of ideas on how to get the best out of the free gift.

two of a kind

Hello. I've had a play with my Crazy Dogs! Just shoogled some colour on using my black Inktense watercolour pencil and job done. I think the little guy is alarmed by the number of flamingos ( I googled 'plural of flamingo' and it can be flamingos or flamingoes - so there you go) that are behind him.
I was going to go all mixed media on you for the backgrounds but decided my traditional style was best for now. I will keep the experiments for another day!

bookmarks

Hello. I mentioned in my last post that I've been joining in swaps. Well, these bookmarks are safely tucked into their new owners books so I can now share!!

Some double sided paper, letter dies and punched daisies and butterflies - job done. The corner bookmark looks a wee bit more complicated but it's not. It's just a cleverly folded 6x6 paper. There are loads of tutorials on YouTube, have a go!

sending a happy hello

Hello. Just popping on to share the card I made for my partner in the Summer Card Swap. Joining in various swaps is a fairly new thing for me, I love it! Not only do you have a reason to make something you get some gorgeous happy mail popping through your door  - not just bills!!

The stamp is from a Unity set and the papers are 'little moments' by Elles Studio.

Well, I can nearly get the car into the garage. Three trips to the recycle centre and two trips to the local charity shop. All that remains to do is re-organise what is left into plastic tubs with lids  - I'm so pleased this job is done!

Next job - tackle the cupboard where the 6x6 paper pads are stored. Thanks for all the ideas you gave me on my last post. I now think I know what to do, we'll see!

This weeks haul

Hello. Last week, stamps and dies. This week, two paper pads, stickers and die cuts. The stickers and die cuts will be used in my planner/smash books/journals. I am determined to get back into them and this new haul will go a long way to helping!

On the subject of paper pads. I have quite a collection of 6x6 pads. Some have only a few sheets left. Some are practically antiques! However, I cannot bring myself to have a clear out - you never know when you might need that exact paper! But, what I was thinking of doing, is taking the sheets out and making one big pile. But then I wouldn't be able to tell people what the paper is called - does that matter? You probably can't get some of it anymore anyway. What do you do?
