celebrate

Hello. I got a new Penny Black stamp set. It's called 'Man's Best Friend' and I love it! All the stamps are sooooo cute and make me smile every time. For the background I stencilled a heart and added some twine. I stamped the image onto watercolour paper, used watercolour pencils to colour and carefully trimmed around. The sentiment is by My Favourite Things from the 'brushstroke birthday' set.

Rightyho, I'm off out to cast my vote!

pocket letter swap

Hello. I have been trying my hand at Pocket Letters again. I joined the Make It Mail It Craft
Swap UK facebook group and organised a swap with a fellow crafter. We agreed to swap three letters. The themes were pink, summer and pets. For the pink PL I used my Clearly Besotted stamps. I stamped using pink and green chalk ink - quick and easy, no colouring!

For the summer PL I used a mix of stamps, stickers and die cuts. I did find this one a wee bit more of a challenge. But I think I managed to pull it off!

And here is the 'pets' theme. I'm sure some people keep hedgies as pets - don't you think? I really enjoyed this one. Watercolouring all those little hedgies was right up my street - and so relaxing.

And here are the three gorgeous PLs I received from my swap partner. Complete with extra crafty goodies and some delicious tea!

straight to the point

Hello. I did a wee bit paper piecing! The stamp is 'straight to the point' by My Favourite Things. The 'paint strokes' are die cut using a Paper Smooches die called, yep, you guessed - paint strokes!

Do you think that's summer over? My woolly cardi is back on and I have my thermal vest on stand by!

hello

Hello indeed, long time no see! Life has been getting in the way these past couple of months. But, fingers crossed, I will have a little more time now to share my creations with you. I have been managing an hour here and there to be a little creative - it's keeping me sane! So I do have some makes stored up you haven't seen. Just didn't have the extra time to take pics', edit, watermark, blog etc - you guys know!

Anyhoo, here is a super quick wee card. A pre-printed spotty base card, a Craft Asylum 'hello sunshine' piece of patterned paper cleverly cut to include a sentiment and a stamp from the MFT set 'lucky dog'.

Do you know, while I'm typing this blog post, I'm listening to The Beatles on Spotify. Haven't heard them for ages, you sort of forget how great they were! She's Leaving Home, In My Life, Nowhere Man, Here There and Everywhere - best songs ever (well, maybe apart from Gilbert O'Sullivan).

You quack me up!

Hello. My card today features a new stamp set by SugarPea Designs called Quackers. I do love a 'punny' sentiment. Once again I used my Inktense pencils to colour.

So, the Christmas crafty box has been dug out the cupboard - a magazine assignment popped into my in-box! After all, it's only 31 weeks till the big day!!

I'm glad we're friends

Hello. I know, posting two days in a row! What have they done with the real Liz? So this one features stamps from the Snuggle Bunnies set by My Favourite Things. The papers are 'meadow sweet' from Craft Asylum.

I used Inktense watercolour  pencils to colour - still my favourites after all this time!

Let the beauty we love...

Hello. I've missed the last few Unity Facebook challenges but when I saw this week was 'butterflies' I had to join in. Butterflies are one of me favourite things on a card. This butterfly is from the May 2014 kit of the month. It's a real modern take on a butterfly!

I'm a bit peeved tho'. In real life the butterflies are a lovely lilac and soft green colour. But try as I might - daylight on the window ledge, lightbox, adjusting the angle - they look blue! You'll just need to take my word for it!!

Yesterday I was at the beauty salon for a haircut - I also got my mousy brown/white/grey hair coloured. I am now lovely shades of blonde (and looking to have more fun!) It's taking a bit of getting used to but hubby says I'm very cute - bless him. I've never had my hair coloured before, quite the experience, and who knew there was another use for tin foil!!

Magical

Hello. So summer seems to have arrived. Although maybe I shouldn't speak too soon as it is decidedly chillier today! Anyway, I have a bright, happy card to share. I treated myself to some of the new MFT goodies from this month's release. These stamps are from the 'Magical Unicorns' set. I also got the 'Snuggle Bunnies' set - but more of that another day!
