alpaca kisses

Hello. I recently discovered Sticker Kitten. An online shop that has some gorgeous, modern and quirky stamps and crafty bits and bobs. I bought the Alpaca Wishes complete collection. Two stamp sets, paper pad, die-cuts, sequins and wooden alpacas! You can buy all the things separately but, in for a penny and all that!!

And here is my first card. I water coloured the stamped images, carefully cut them out and popped them up on foam pads. You get lots of little stamps in the set so I added a scarf to one and a pile of presents to the other.

I am entering the following challenges...
Cute Card Thursday....snowflakes
Cutie Pie Challenge....winter layers

And if you tick 'reduce my packaging' at checkout they let you know what's been saved. I saved one plastic packet and two card headers. How cool is that?

Christmas Planning!

Hello. I'm always pretty organised in the lead up to Christmas. I keep lists of things to do and things that need to be bought. Over the years this has been done on random bits of paper, post it notes or sometimes, if I've been super organised, a notebook. But since I discovered planners and travellers notebook covers my plans are not only super organised but totally gorgeous!

For this years plans I am using a black and white travellers notebook by Websters Pages. There are four elastics inside and your notebooks just slide in and are securely held in place. I have added a red snowflake and silver heart shaped bell (they came in this month's Sweet Treat Box) to the elastic that holds the notebook closed.

I have added a snowflake acetate 'dashboard' just as a bit of frippery as my first page. I simply folder the acetate in half and slid it through the first elastic. Some stickers and my reindeer paperclip (also in this months box) add to the prettiness.

On the inside of the acetate is 'Merry' a Julie Nutting stamp. I stamped her on watercolour paper, coloured and carefully cut her out. I stuck her on the acetate and added dots to her dress with a white gel pen.

I covered the notebook using papers and stickers from the Merry and Bright collection by Simple Stories. I added a little seam binding down the edge. The notebook has been divided up into sections and I made tabs for each one - calendar, cleaning, shopping etc. I have also added some washi tape to the edges of some of the pages.

I hope you have enjoyed this peek into my Christmas plans! If you fancy having a go yourself the Paper, Pen and Plan facebook group is running 'Penelope Plans December'. We are sharing ideas and planning our Christmas step by step. I'd love to see you there!

The Merry and Bright collection I used is available here and the 'Merry' stamp is here. Quote LIZ10 for 10% off!

Enjoy the Sweater Weather!

Hello. I don't know what the weather is like in your part of the world but here in the west of Scotland it is definately sweater weather! A north wind and some places have snow, brrrrr.

My two cards both feature stamps from the Sweater Weather set by Waffle Flower. I coloured the sweaters using my Zig Real Brush markers. The one above has a little strip of my new washi tape and doesn't it match perfectly?

The leaves on the paper below were just plain but I coloured some of them to match the sweater. I also inked the edges of the wooden leaves.

I am entering the challenge over at Penny Black and More...Autumn Splendour.

111 Places - part 1

Hello. Glasgow is my home city, but if you are anything like me you take all the local sights for granted. Not any more! I spotted this book and decided that it would be really interesting to work through all 111 places, after all - they shouldn't be missed.

And, it's a great reason to use this gorgeous Travellers Notebook with papers, ephemera, stickers and washi tape from the Twilight range by One Canoe Two......

First step is to set free my pictures from my phone! Nothing fancy, just brightened them up a little using Picasa and then printed on cheap copy paper.....

Next up is the fun part! The inserts that come with the Travellers Notebook are plain kraft. But I want to be fancier than that. I chose two co-ordinating papers and covered the outside of the notebook. Then I added some stickers and ephemera....

And here is my first entry. Number 54 in the book Homeless Jesus....

So far I have ticked off about five of the places listed in the book. Plenty to keep me going until we venture out to find more! I'll share those pages some time soon!

fa-la-la-la-la

Hello. I'm well and truly in Christmas mode now! This is a Penny Black wood mounted stamp called 'warm and merry'. I stamped using a Versafine ink pad, watercoloured and carefully fussycut the cute carolling mice. I 'grounded' them on the card with white glitter but unfortunately my photography skills have let me down and it's hardly visible.
