Monday's News

This week I found some treasures in TK Maxx. Three 6x6 pads and one 12x12. I really think it's time to clear out my older papers. Styles and colours change and I don't think I will use them. What does everyone else do? Do you keep them 'just in case'? Or are you ruthless with your older stash!
I also treated myself to this sentiment set. There is something for every occasion and I couldn't resist!

Right, what else is happening - a brilliant spring sale over in The Stamp Basket! Stamps, papers and dies all at reduced prices - go nab yourself a bargain!

OK, that's you up to date so I'll see you tomorrow for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge.

Hi Liz . . . I have clear-outs every now and then - always painful.

With papers . . . I often make my own envelopes, so if they are white one side and patterned on the other, I make up the envelope with the pattern INSIDE so I can easily address them on the white side!

Again, if I don't like the paper pattern, but it's white on the other side . . . I use it up as "scratch" paper to get inky on!

Otherwise I bin it! Haven't got the room to keep stuff I know I'll NEVER use!

Good luck! xxx

What about selling your older stuff, maybe on eBay? There are always folk looking for cheap crafty stuff - my daughter is 7 and has started delving into my stash... I try to buy cheap and cheerful for her to practice and play with and getting good quality but at bargain prices is always good!... Or maybe do a comp via here? give it away! ;) lol
Well done on your bargains! xx

Lovely new stash Liz! Occasionally I have a big clear out but I've still got tons of stuff, especially paper, that I can't part with... just in case!

Oh Liz .. .. what scrummy new buys.

I find it hard to part with anything from my craft pod.

If I have bought it then I have to use it.

But if you are comfortable parting with it then you might find the local school or brownies would love some for their art/craft classes.

Love Jules xx

Hi Liz, LOVE that sentiment set - lots of great ones for many occasions.

Late last year, I had a BIG clean out of my Craft Room. I gave all my unwanted papers to our local pre-school/kindergarten who were very happy to receive them. Little kids love doing cut and paste so as long as the papers are appropriate for that age group, I think it's great to pass them on.

Sometimes selling on EBay is a lot of effort by the time you take photos, edit them, upload them and then write a description - plus it costs to list them (unless you are lucky enough with one of the 'free listing' things they have every so often. And then you have to post the items if they sell. I guess it's weighing up whether you have the time and whether the rewards would be worth the effort. Hope this helps.

Hi Liz

I've been following your wonderful blog for a while now and just wanted to pop by to thank you for suggesting TK Maxx for papers. I'd never have thought of going in there for crafty bits but I came out a happy lady on Saturday with a pad of gorgeous papers and matching ribbons.
If you want to check out my post it's here: http://sazzledazzlecrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/sketch-saturday-with-snoozing-louie.html

I tend to get bored of papers and forget about them but having purchased these beauties my older papers have also taken on a whole new lease of life.

Many thanks
Saz
