my happy day

Well, things went to plan today. We had a lovely lunch and I got to have a pay day spend in the craft shop. Got home and managed to get a good start on my magazine commission.

I also managed to find some time to make this little card. The stamp is 'flowers for mimi' by Penny Black and I coloured her with my Ranger distress markers. I then stamped the border, heat embossed with white powder and coloured with yellow H2Os. Maybe my card will make the sun shine tomorrow!!

cool

Yay, it's Wednesday and my 'real working week' is over and my 'crafty working week' can begin! And tomorrow morning I will begin it with a trip to my local craft shop, a pub lunch (to keep hubby happy) and the rest of the day on a magazine commission.

So tonight I have a happy little boys card to share. The image is from SKdigis and I coloured with a mix of copics and prismacolour pencils. The papers are 'boys only' by doodlebug and the little tag sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Bookmarks

For something a little different I decided to have a play with my Kuretake Zig Art & Graphic pens and make a couple of bookmarks. These pens are water based and so you can easily give your stamped images a lovely watercoloured effect.

I also used the ink from the pens for my backgrounds. Simply swipe the pens over a craft mat, spritz with water and lay the watercolour paper on top to pick up the ink. I then stamped the grids and heat embossed with white powder.

I am entering the challenge over at Sweet Stampin'....ribbon.

cute as a button

I can never resist any challenges that mention the 'button' word! So when Jellypark announced their new challenge was 'button up' I just had to join in. I have used the Jellypark freebie digi image that came with the monthly newsletter. I coloured with copics and the paper is by Doodlebug. The sentiment is from a Penny Black stamp set.

Off now to tidy up the crafty room before Miranda comes on. Such fun!

my friend

Mmmm, now that I see this photographed do you think poor teddy is walking a tightrope using his brolly for balance? I know it's cardworld and things don't need to make sense but for me they do kinda have to make sense! Maybe I will add some teeny daisies to the white bit to 'ground' him. What do you think?

Anyways, he's (or is he a she) a Penny Black Slapstick Stamp 'sunshine in the rain' and I coloured with Inktense water colour pencils. It's a Martha Stewart border punch and the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Button 'E'

Something a little bit different today. I have decided I need to actually do something with all the stuff I have bought in the past for projects that have never happened! I have a felt bag waiting to be stitched up, I have a clear plastic paint pot waiting to be decorated, I have numerous plain storage boxes that need covered or painted and decorated, I have mini albums, scrapbook albums, a smash book, an art journal book - you get the picture! So, I figure if I do maybe one a month everything will eventually get done! Wish me luck.

Anyway, this big E has been in the cupboard for at least three years. I swear I heard it sigh with happiness when I reached in and told it it's time had come! A coat of paint and covered in buttons, job done. Oh, and don't worry that I have used up all my pink buttons. I can assure you there are plenty left!

smile

Maybe it's because I love this Penny Black stamp - it does always make me smile. Or maybe because I put a little extra effort in by using the old sewing machine. Or maybe it's because I had a couple of hours this morning to just take my time putting it together. Anyway, for whatever reason I am very chuffed with how this one has worked out!

I have used a pre-coloured image from the new 'Simply for Valentines' set over in The DigiStamp Boutique. Some digi papers, a bit of punching and embossing, buttons and twine - job done.
