February Calendar

January has passed in a flurry of white and it's nearly February, the month of love and romance.

Here's what I did for February's page. The first layer is just plain old white card inked up at the edges with rosebud pink. The next two layers are papers from the Pretty Please set by My Minds Eye. The diecut flowers are from the same range and I have finished off the bigger flower with a metal button.

The gorgeous little characters are Sam and Suzie from the Digistamp Boutique I coloured them with Copics and inked the edges with bisque. I finished by adding three tiny polka dot buttons and a heart shaped rhinestone at the big day. Job done.

This fits 4 challenges....

One Stop Crafts....Love and Kisses.

Allsorts....Hearts and Flowers.

Magical Crafts....Valentine.

A Spoonful of Sugar....Freestyle.

Decopatch Bear

Continuing with my 'try something new' theme here is my first go at Decopatch. It's really fun, easy and very quick to do. This is how 'Patch' started out in life....

I hadn't seen decopatch before I came across the shop Damselfly Crafts when we were out and about in Glasgows West End last week. I couldn't resist having a go. I even have enough paper and glue left to cover a couple of tea light holders.

The soap making stuff I ordered hasn't arrived yet and I am hoping it hasn't gotten lost in the post (DH is badly in need of a wash).

I am entering Patch into the Cute Daisy May challenge which this week is...Vintage.

My second attempt at stitching is much better, don't you think? I have used one of my favourite Lili of the Valley stamps and gave her the water colour treatment. There is a little sparkle on her wings (if you look very carefully).

This fits three challenges...

Just for You

It's Friday night, we've just had a delicious Chinese takeaway and all is well in the buttons household. The other day I mentioned that I was going to try stitching on my cards. Well, here it is. Now, be gentle, it's my first attempt and I know there is a loose thread and, yes, I can see the wonky bit but I have to say I am fairly pleased with the end result.

And, by a strange coincidence, the challenge on this weeks Truly Scrumptious is a brilliant sketch with the optional extra challenge of 'stitching'.

I have used 'Bunch of Flowers' from the DigiStamp Boutique as my main image. The boutique has a whole new range of trendy floral images, go check them out here.

The papers are from a Forever Friends pad ' Pink Parfait' and I used Copics to colour.

Enjoy your weekends.

Happy Anniversary

Here is the card I made for my lovely hubby. It also happens to fit in nicely with a few of this weeks callenges!

Polka Doodles...Love
A Spoonful of Sugar...Lots of Layering
Creative Card Crew...Punch It
Simon Says...Punch It (great minds think alike)
Copic Colour...G21, B45 and R85

So I gave him the card and he handed it straight back 's'pose you'll want to photograph it now'. They know us so well. We had a day off work today and took ourselves off to the West End of Glasgow. Had a fab lunch, mince and tatties in Oran Mor (an old converted church). Then lattes and carrot cake in a wee coffee shop, bliss.

For my card I used Murtle and Shelly from the DigiStamp Boutique. How cute are they? I coloured with Copics and the papers are Honey and Hugs by Papermania.

Fruity Bouquet

No card, but thought I would share this with you. It is our 4th wedding anniversary on Tuesday and look what my lovely friend gave us. How unusual and fabilicious is this? I had to quickly take this picture before I started munching!

So I took the little mini sewing machine back to hobbycraft, it was useless. I have now fished out my big one from the back of the garage, wiped it down and made more than a few spiders homeless. Hopefully it will still be working. I am itching to try stitching on my cards and may have a go tonight.

While I was at hobbycraft I bought a desk calendar blank and plan to do each month as they come along, oh dear, I don't think there will be enough hours in the day cos' I have also ordered some soap making stuff which should hopefully arrive at the beginning of the week.

That Martha Stewart book I got for Christmas has a lot to answer for, including my dwindling bank balance!

Bouquet of Wishes

Here's Coco again bringing a gorgeous bouquet for someone special. I have made this card following the sketch over on Truly Scrumptious, the optional extra is to use pink, green and black.

I am venturing out this afternoon to meet my friend in Glasgow for a latte and a muffin. I will most probably pop into Millers (crafty shop), there may be some crafty bargains to be had or some new stuff in.

Oh, and I nearly forgot. I was in the top 5 at Allsorts this week and can now proudly display the banner on my sidebar. Woohoo!

You're So Sweet

This year I thought it might be nice to try my hand at different crafty things and this is my first tentative step... a mini pizza box. It was really easy and fun to do. All the instructions you need are here.

For my next 'something different' project I plan on making some soap. I will let you know how I get on.

The box fits three challenges....

A Spoonful of Sugar...Hearts
Cute Daisy May...Love
Digital Tuesday...Valentine

The cute bears name is Coco and he can be found
here at the DigiStamp Boutique (15%off until 10th January). I coloured him with Copics and spot the brill' felt button, I'm lovin' them.

Make a Wish

I wish the white stuff would go away now. It looked lovely at Christmas time, all twinkly and glittery but the novelty has now well and truly worn off.

Here is another of my new stamps, this one is from Lili of the Valley. I love their new range of stamps and have still a couple more to ink up. I have coloured with water colour pencils.

I am entering this card into the challenge over on Allsorts which is a sketch plus either use something new or something old.
